Attentive, Honest, Reliable Sitter!

Pet care experience

Hi there, my name is Nicole, and my husband and I just moved to Albany in the fall of 2021! During the day, I work as an Administrator for an organization catering towards services for intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am able to work from home occasionally, but also can bring a dog I’m sitting for to my office. We have an elderly dog, Frankie, whos been my partner in crime for over 14 years! We also have a giant black puffball named Petie (who is a cat) and his other kitty buddy, Billy, who's less fluffy but equally entertaining :) I absolutely love cats and dogs and honestly any animals out there. My professional animal-related experience includes: working on a sustainable farm in Oregon where I managed the care for the calves, ducks, pigs, chickens, dogs, and cats. I went on to work as a doggy daycare attendant as a summer job, which included bathing and basic grooming on top of playing with the dogs all day. Later, I worked as a dog bather at a grooming facility. I have done professional pet sitting/dog walking off and on in intensity for the past decade on Rover as well as off of Rover (and have pet sat long before that, informally), and very much have loved meeting new fur friends. I am comfortable with cats and dogs of all ages and all varieties of behaviors or medical issues.

Nicole was so amazing, I have nothing but good things to say about her! She is very friendly and was accommodating to my schedule, as well as responsive and responsible. Dewey had a great time in her care and she sent photo updates and clearly made him feel safe and comfortable! I would strongly recommend her!

We are very pleased with our experience with Nicole. She was very accommodating with our old sweet boy Copper, and having her old sweet boy for Copper to pace around with made it even better! New buddies! Highly, highly recommend!!

Nicole did a fantastic job taking care of my shy and anxious dog over the weekend. She took him on walks to get him comfortable with her, she and her husband took him on a long hike, which he loved! She sent updates and photos often and he got along with her pets as well. I would definitely have her watch Benji again!

Nicole was great! She watched our pups while we were out of town for the weekend. She sent us photos and updates about the pups every day. She cleaned up after herself and kept the house tidy. So nice to know we can leave the dogs at home with someone great while we are out!

I count my dog, Frankie, as one of my best friends. We have had many adventures together ever since I got him in 2009, and I have never taken the responsibility of being a dog owner lightly. I also have had experience in caring for toy dogs, large breeds (I have lived with 2 Great Danes in my past), elderly dogs, physically disabled dogs (I have contributed to the end-of-life care for pets within my family), and those with moderate behavioral issues (i.e. separation anxiety, aggression). I also have a ton of experience with cats, and am always excited to pet and hang out with a new cat. In addition to the animals listed above, I have had experience taking care of rats and ferrets. For Dogs: My style includes always treating dogs in a loving and caring manner as well as using an "alpha" demeanor when appropriate. I have a major soft spot for small dogs, and will have them sit in my lap for hours on end. I love playing with dogs of any size, as well as going on hikes and walks, and love to coddle them at all times! As for hikes - I would typically only have time to do a longer hike on a weekend, but my husband and I do love the excuse to go on a hike, so please let me know if you'd want a longer distance than a 15-60 minute walk (if your pet is signed up for a walk) around the neighborhood and we can work something out! Whatever fun activity we have planned, I will happily send you photos of our time together. If a pet is staying in my home, I will be very attentive to make sure they are getting along with my dog and cats. My dog is GREAT with all other animals, and my cats are hesitant but get used to new fur friends after a day or two. When I'm not supervising the animals and have to leave the house temporarily, I will make sure to keep your loved one in their own bed room so as to avoid any potential issues while I'm out. Lastly, I'd like to mention that I completely understand how difficult it is to entrust a stranger in your home and with your loved ones (I've been on the other side of Rover as well! It's scary!). I am happy to accommodate you in any way that will help you feel better. I am not a partier whatsoever, and only really spend time with my husband when I'm not working. Brownie points if he would be allowed to visit me during house sitting stays (he could of course come to the meet and greet in that instance so you could meet him if preferred) but this is not a requirement for me to house sit for you. I am happy to abide by any house rules you may have.

Information Nicole B. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if there are any special needs or behaviors that I should account for. At our meet and greet, I will also ask about these behaviors, such as how a dog is on a leash, if they have certain anxiety-based behaviors, if they'd rather cuddle or play during drop-ins, if they are territorial, etc.

A typical day

At this time, I'm offering drop-ins (for any animal) or dog walking and in-my-home pet sitting. In certain circumstances, I may eventually be open to in-your-home pet sitting. As for pets at our house, I am accepting smaller dogs (up to about 40 pounds) and must be able to be okay with another very chill elderly dog as well as 2 cats. I understand that some behaviors happen, and will be attentive to their interactions.

My current job is flexible, though since I’m new there I like to only work from home about 2 times in a week. I am happy to bring a dog friend with me to my office (in philomath) - there’s mostly only me and the director at the office and he likes dogs so it works out just fine. My typical schedule is Monday-friday 8 am-4:30pm, but these hours can be adjusted when needed.
