My name is Nicole, I have been working in national service for the past two years for an AmeriCorps program working in several non profit organizations. This past year I have been a team leader to 12 members between the ages on 18 - 24 in a 10 month service commitment that travels for community service across the U.S. In the past two years I have 3,400 hours of community service not including the community service that I have done in my free time outside of the program. I have worked with two humane societies in the past working in socializing, walking, running with, feeding, trained in sanitation, and medicating animals of all different breeds and behaviors for three years. I have two loving rescues at home that I raised and trained. I am always looking for more opportunities to work with animals. This past summer, I worked at a non profit organization in San Antonio Texas working in environmental stewardship. San Antonio Texas has a huge homeless animal population and many many issues with feral dogs. During my free time in San Antonio, I rescued a liter of abandoned puppies, and two nursing blue healers that were dumped on the property that I was serving at. I was able to get the animals all spayed or neutered, de- wormed, vaccinated, and fostered them until I was able to find homes for them, with the help of P.A.W.S and God's Dogs of San Antonio. I have a strong passion for animal care, and am returning home to Downers Grove Illinois in late July 2017 and have an open schedule for the summer and the fall.
