Pet care experience
I grew up on a small farm in SD, after graduating and going to school for business/biology I was eventually moved to Oregon for work. I have worked in dietary needs and animal Care at the Bramble Park Zoo, I've also working in dog boarding for 3 yrs prior to living in Oregon. I live close to a dog park and a really nice walking park that we would frequent often. If I have to run out for the day, my roommate works grave yard so the dogs would never be alone. Nickolas was responsive, helpful, prompt, and flexible. He assisted with rides and came to me for the meet-n-greet, which I was extremely grateful for. He communicated well both before and during Theo’s stay, sent pictures and video, and even shared some of Margot’s treats. If you’ve got a dog who likes to “tussle,” Margot and Nickolas are your pair :) Highly recommend.
Nickolas is always available and accommodating when it comes to watching my pup, Mambo! He offers to pick him up when I am unable to bring him over and will even drop him off with me if I need. He is so good with reinforcing the training that I have worked so hard on with Mambo, so that has definitely helped me raise a poised young doggo! Nickolas is great with tuckering Mambo out too. After a day with Nickolas, Mambo is pooped and ready for bed. He provides a day filled with love, treats, toys, and fun. I am thankful that my pup has him!
For the last year, Nick has been my go to dog sitter for my (crazy) 2 year old Australian Shepard/Border Collie, Sadie. Whenever I drop Sadie off at his place she is so excited to see him and his dog, Margot. When Sadie is with him, he takes her to the dog park multiple times a day for hours, every day she is with him. When they're not at the dog park, Sadie and Margot are playing constantly. Margot is the sweetest and plays really well with other dogs. When I am gone I can count on Nick to send me many pictures of Sadie and updates on how she is doing. Every time I pick up Sadie from Nick's she seems so happy. He truly treats her like she is his pup. Nick is always our top choice when we need a dog sitter for Sadie!
Nick is an amazing and compassionate person. In fact, I would describe him as dog-like -- in the sense that he lights up whenever he sees me and my dog, Kuru. Kuru immediately took to liking (and licking) Nick the moment they first met. It was amazing! I've yet to see him wiggle his back like that for a stranger; Nick was taken as one of our pack. Since then, their connection has only become stronger. When I have dropped Kuru off to be babysat for the day, he pulls and pulls on his leash in unyielding anticipation to see his friend and buddy. In addition to just being a great guy and a natural "dog-whisperer," Nick is dependable and trustworthy. In fact, he is one of the few people I trust with Ku. He is patient and understanding with potty training pups, and he even shared extra food one time I forgot! I always feel secure with his commitment to take care of my dog. Finally, Nick's dog Margo is a beautiful god-send of a dog. She is well trained, super friendly and patient -- the PERFECT dog for socializing -- even if you have a crazy puppy. My pup Kuru likes to rough house and bite and chew (he is still teething), and Margo gently guides him towards more appropriate play behavior. When I drop my dog off with Nick, I know he is getting a two-for-one deal because he will also get to play with Margo too! I highly recommend Nick, and the moment you meet him you will see why. He is clearly a great choice to watch your dog.

I like to walk the dogs around the Golden Gardens park, duck ponds by VRC, I also go hiking frequently and if your ok with your pooch joining they would come along too. Favorite dog parks would be Splash in Thurston, Candle light, Alton Baker, Morrs Ranch. Currently we play alot of fetch.. or keep away. Frisbee, we go swimming, and good social interactions between dogs.
