Passionate Artist Embracing Life
Pet care experience
I started to volunteer at my local animal shelter when my best friend, Ricky was 14 years old. I told him I wanted to find a new best buddy and he said it was ok. I am 69 years old and physically fit. I walk and play with dogs in a fenced in area, give quality time and hugs to dogs from tiny toy dogs to large shepherds, pit bull mixes and etc. Every Friday we take a few outside of the shelter and walk in a park and streets with the dogs wearing “adopt me”vests. My main passion though is creating artwork. Every time I engage with animals, I am enhanced by their knowledge and love. My goal is to be a professional artist and help shelter animals with my God given talent. Working for Rover helps me financially to be able to do what I love to also help dogs in need of forever home. I realize how precious this bond between animals and us that I want more people and animals to enjoy what is a gift.
Reviews
Nick was amazing, he spent extra time with my dog than he needed to, gave me direct feedback about how my dog was behaving and why, even brought his own collar to help my dog with his anxiety issues. He brought him treats from his home and offered suggestions from his experience at the shelter he works at. Nick was great. I could not have asked for more from a dog sitter, he was amazing and I will be using him again to watch my Murphy.
Nick was awesome! He took great care of my Thelma and sent tons of updates. I really felt better knowing he was there.
Nick is a very kind person, and his love of dogs really shines through. He was reliable and treated our dogs with care. He sent lots of pictures and updates, which was very appreciated. He took our energetic dog on walks and spent quiet time with our old boy. He did a great job for us. Thanks Nick!
Nick did a fantastic job house sitting and taking care of our German Shepherd Dog, Coda, while we were away. We had scheduled an extended trip before we got Coda and it couldn’t be changed. We decided that having someone stay in our house with Coda was the best option for him, since we were going to be gone for a month. We met with Nick several times before our trip and it was evident that he was good with dogs and Coda liked him. He seemed honest and trustworthy. It was difficult, but we gave Nick the keys to our house and trusted him with Coda and pretty much everything we own. We could not be happier with the result. We got updates every day and we could tell Coda was happy. Nick took him to the dog park almost every day and they also went for walks and went jogging. The house was neat and in good condition when we got back. Nick far exceeded our expectations. We will certainly have Nick stay with Coda in the future. It was very hard to be gone for that long, but it was much easier knowing Nick was watching Coda. Thank you, Nick!
