Caring, Responsible, Experienced

Pet care experience

Hello! I am a recent UCSB graduate looking to help you take care of your pup or cat. I have a dog of my own (australian shepherd), 7 years old, and have owned 2 dogs prior to my current pup, as well as a grumpy cat. I also have experience in veterinarian clinics as a vet technician, as well as in a shelter environment for the more "special needs" dogs- those needing medical attention and behavioral help. I love all animals, and will happily take your dog on runs and long walks. I will take the time to help train him while you're away if you prefer as well! Open to any special needs that your dog may need, and am responsible and punctual if your dog needs any kind of medications. I also have plenty of experience with cats (grumpy ones too...!) and it's absolutely no problem if he/she tends to be picky with their humans...(I know, it's a cat thing sometimes). Feel free to reach out and ask any questions!

Nicholle just dogsat for us again last week and I can't say enough good things! We appreciate everything you did for our pups and how you took great care of our home while we were out of town. Thank you so much, Nicholle!

Nicholle was so awesome with our dogs! We have two very energetic Belgian Malinois and she took excellent care of them while we were out of town. They got to stick to their feeding schedule, got plenty of walks and play time, and spent each afternoon winding down in the living room. It's like we never left! They were extremely happy when we returned and our home was left in a super clean state! Will definitely be booking again if given the opportunity. Thanks, Nicholle for being so great with our fur babies and for taking care of our home as well!

Nicholle is my hero. Not only did she take fabulous care of my aged dog, she took excellent care of my home. A random smoke detector went off during her stay due to a neighbors chain smoking. Nicholle was away at a dinner when it happened, and the fire dept. burst through my front door and knocked off the frame and hinges. Not only did she calm my dog, she helped clean up the mess of the door, and the rest of the home, and sent me tons updates. My dog and I very grateful for her attentive care!

I respect that all pets are different and have their own quirks. I always remove risks to pets (trash, choking hazards, etc) for my own dog when I leave the house, and I would do the same for yours. If your pup is nervous on walks, I will make sure to avoid his/her triggers. I am very attentive to body language both indoors and outdoors, having experience in shelters and veterinary clinics. I also know cat behavior, having owned (a grumpy) one in the past. I understand they will not always warm up to someone new, and that is okay with me. My goal is to make sure your pet is safe, feels as little stress as possible without you, and make sure you enjoy your time away as much as possible.

Information Nicholle J. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know if your dog has: - Medications - Tendency to bite/nip when excited/around food/around toys - How they are on a leash- Do they lunge after dogs/bikes/skateboards/people, or are they calm? - If they have any separation anxiety Note: These things are not a deal breaker at all for me! It would just be helpful to know so that I may give your dog the best care possible.

A typical day

Calm, cool, and collected. If your pup has a lot of energy he/she needs to get out, I can take them for runs, long walks, etc. If they have any special medicinal needs, I am responsible and don't have any trouble handling dogs with gentleness and patience. If they just need a human around to keep them company, I am happy to do that too.

They will receive early morning walks, feeding schedule will be prioritized, and long afternoon and evening walks. Minimum 3 walks per day. Play time as well if your pup/cat is play-motivated!! I’m not a sitter that sits around the house to be “with” your pet without interacting with them (unless that’s what your pet prefers- let me know!). I do work part-time but my schedule is extremely flexible. Your pets needs are easily worked around, and if not, I am a proponent of honest and open communication. If I don’t think I can give the attention your pet may need, I will let you know so you may find a sitter that better suits your needs.
