Pet care experience
I'm that friend who gets too excited by every dog that walks by at Soda City! Animals have always been a passion of mine, be they pets or farm animals or wild creatures. I have 15 years of personal experience caring for cats and dogs, from kittens/puppies to seniors. I spent three years volunteering at an animal shelter with dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and needs, and I'm certified in Pet First Aid/CPR. Additionally, I have personal experience with managing a pet with with separation anxiety. I currently care for my senior rescue dog, a small Chinese Crested mix named Tato. I worked with a trainer and then on my own to increase his tolerance for being alone from less than a minute to a full work day. I have a lot of sympathy for pet parents dealing with separation anxiety! If you need someone to dogsit your anxious pup for a few hours (constant care), you can request my housesitting service and include the the timeframe (up to 8 hours). I'll send you a quote with my hourly rate.

Amazing care as always!
Nichole helped us out of another jam. The best!
I could not recommend Nichole more highly! She took extra time with Penny and did all her favorite play things around the neighborhood. It included so much more than just walking around the block. And she gives the best notes. But best of all is that Penny loves her ❤️
As always, Nichole went above and beyond to care for our pets while we were away. Her updates were so reassuring while we couldn’t be at home, and she always did more than needed to make our four legged babies feel comfortable and happy. We appreciate her so much!

Safety, trust & environment
I highly value being respectful and considerate of the space of others. I want to make sure that both you and your pet(s) are comfortable when I'm in your environment. As an overprotective pet parent, I know how their care when you're away from home can weigh on the mind. I do my best to reassure and inform by establishing clear and consistent communication, sharing quality pics of your pet having a blast, and going above and beyond to care for your furry companions!
Information Nichole M. would like to know about your pet
For all clients: Please let me know if your pet has any special needs. Feel free to share any commands your dog knows or behaviors you're working on, and whether you'd like us to practice any of these during my visit. For walks: Is your dog reactive/aggressive to other dogs? How well does your dog walk on a leash (any tugging, pulling, etc)? For drop-ins: What is your pet's typical routine? I'll do my best to recreate that so they're comfortable. For dogsitting anxious dogs: What behaviors do they exhibit when anxious? What is your pup’s current threshold for alone time?
A typical day
For drop-in visits and sitting, I'll do my best to follow your pet's routine. If you have a fenced-in yard, we can play outside for a bit, otherwise we'll go on a quick leashed potty break. I can play with them with their favorite toys, give them pets and cuddles, check water/food, administer medications, etc. For dog walking clients, during our first few visits I'll walk your pup in an area they're already familiar with, like in your neighborhood or nearby trails. Once we're comfortable together, we can explore some of the local river trails and parks at your request. I'll always walk your pet in the dog-friendly areas most suited to their needs! On walks, I do my best to balance physical exercise and mental stimulation. I always bring extra water, a bowl, poo bags, grain-free treats, Benadryl (in case of stings), and a spare leash. Expect plenty of cute pics and a thorough post-visit recap!
