We are a family of dog lovers in Carrboro! We personally have two dogs, a border collie-pit mix and a miniature dachshund, both that we've had for about 6 years. Our dogs are very lazy, but get along great with other dogs and people! They frequently spend time with other dog friends and meet new dogs in the neighborhood, so they are very well socialized. We frequently watch our friends' dogs over weekends, or up to a week, so we have ample experience boarding other dogs. Over weekends, we are typically around the house all day, so we can watch the dogs closely and walk them as frequently as needed. If we leave over the weekend, it is usually for no more than 3-4 hours. We are more than willing to board dogs during weekdays, but your dog must be capable of being left alone for 8-10 hours without being let outside. If you have a crate, or if normally give your dog free roam and it is not destructive, we can accommodate it very easily. We do not have a fenced in yard, so all walks will be on leash around our neighborhood. While both of our dogs are quite lazy, we do like to take them on trips to the dog park (southern village), and on hikes around Carrboro (usually wilson park). Mostly, we just like hanging out with our dogs, so we like to walk them to downtown Carrboro to grab a bite to eat or have a beer at weaver steet! Oscar, our Border Collie Mix, has had extensive allergy issues, so we have a lot of experience with dealing with administering medication and keeping itching in check. We consistently run a dehumidifier and vacuum, so our home is perfect if your dog also experiences allergies. Our home is two stories, but we can get outside without using stairs, so we would be capable of watching a dog that cannot handle stairs. We are willing to pick up and drop off your dog up to 10 miles, and can bathe your dog while we are watching it. Preferably, we would like 3 days notice for watching your dog, but if you message me we may be able to accommodate a more last minute request. We do not have any breed restrictions, but since we have dogs, we require that your dog is up to date on its vaccinations, as well as its heartworm and flea/tick medication. We also cannot accommodate dogs that are aggressive toward other dogs.
