Pet care experience

Hello Folks! In Colorado helping folk! Open to dog/pet care & adventures! + often sit for various folks/pets/farms or venture out Got chickens in pens/dogs/cats/people/wildlife/gardens/hiking trails/parks near + small back yard & dog run. I am a seasoned pet care-taker, trainer, handyman, animal whisperer?... Grew up on a inn/farm in Vermont. Had all types of animals and humans around. +From a Medical family & have training. Have had a husky/wolf to a tiny pup (among other animals) around in the past kept em active n' happy. +Always open to offer a helping hand. Just ask. Also a networker / social media consultant / solar installation tec / solutions minded kind of human. I am around for the holidays and then some. Usually work for 25+$ to 50$ per hour depending on the job needs other than just pet related activities. I like to work on a sliding scale depending on income. But importantly remember we must use the rover app for payment and such. So, feel free to contact me anytime. Enjoy the paw'some adventures ahead, Nick NAK of all Trades & Travels - At Your Service! It all depends on the week but they are often welcome on adventures and projects or the hardware store.. Plz just let me know what's needed for each animal and I'll meet the expectations or hope to always give care/lessons or health needs. Depending on weather & daily have various ways to keep the animals n all souls safe. Lots of water and shelter + solutions for outside needs + doggy doors/separate spaces and cords/leash when needed. Open book schedule often = I'm a gig / handyman / transportation / dynamic worker so I take animals with me or my family or crew helps when needed. Currently healing from work injuries & pet sitter gigs help. We have a long mostly fenced yard with a dog run and various areas for the pups to stay during the day and night. We take care of all animals, plants, homes also off site whenever needed.

Nick was amazing!!!! He was extremely communicative the entire time and continued to send me updates and pictures of Max which means everything to me. Max was sick when I left so I was worried to leave him but he was in great hands with Nick. He will be my go to sitter going forward.

Nick has been my go to sitter for my 2 pups for almost 2 years now! He always is super flexible with dates and drop off times and last minute boarding requests. His friend Gabe has also been so amazing with the pups as well. He’s brought my dogs along with him on camping trips and outings and I can tell they have so much fun by their reaction when we pull onto his property. I have not used another sitter since I found Nick. The dogs adore staying with him and I love the flexibility Nick has with boarding/daycare and how tired my dogs are once I pick them up from running around the farm all day!

DO NOT HIRE! We had a terrible experience with Nicholas, even though we met him in person and he met our dogs a week or so before leaving town. Our dogs both take medication (up to three times a day) and need at least one good walk a day. My rover profile states clearly that they can not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time. We booked Nicholas for a 2 week period of time while we were out of the country. He was staying at our house with the dogs and the start time for day one was 8 am (as per our Rover Online reservation). I messaged him the day before we left and said he could come by around noon since we weren't leaving for the airport until then. The following day, when we left, I messaged him again saying we were leaving the house and that Joey really needed his walk soon since we didn't have time that morning. He replied saying he was busy until 6:30 pm that evening with other work. This concerned me but when I said, well joey needs his walk before then so please make sure that happen, he replied with a thumbs up. Then at 8:30 pm as we were boarding our second flight, I got a text from Nicholas saying he was having trouble getting into our place. 15 min later he messaged again saying he got in. I replied very concerned that the dogs had been alone for 8 hours (basically since we left town) and that he didn't give joey his walk or tend to them basically at all on our first day gone. He replied "dogs are fine" and then later said his phone died and that he was actually at the house at 6 pm. Either way, whether that was an excuse or not, the dogs should have never been left alone for anything over 4 hours. He should have never booked other obligations on day one that took away from their care. At this point I didn't trust Nicholas to manage his time properly and it was clear our dogs came last on his work priority list. I scrambled to find someone and luckily found a friend to take over. The next day I told Nicholas our friend would be coming and that we no longer needed his services. Because rover dog sitters are technically independent contractors, they make their own cancelation policy. This means that we spent over $400 for 24 hours of "care" even though Nicholas did not tend to them for 8 hours of that. I approached Nicholas about this to ask if he would be willing to refund us some of the money since the rover was canceled due to his lack of care and competence and he made excuses and tried to make ME feel bad and then said he was busy and would revisit our conversation later. He never did. I never heard from him after that. He basically slept at our home and took care of the dogs for one day and walked away with $400. I do NOT recommend hiring Nicholas. Obviously, I have taken this up with Rover but due to their privacy policy, I don't know how they resolved it with him or if they will take any action. I never want this to happen to anyone. Our dogs are our children and we love them more then anything.
