Inner SE Portland Dog Lover

Pet care experience

I have been taking care of dogs for most of my life, I have dealt with dogs with epilepsy, kidney failure, blindness, and other chronic illnesses. Besides the more relaxed walk for the senior dog, I will take the younger and more active pups for longer walks, runs, hikes and even swimming once the weather warms up some. I dog sit for friends and family already and am used to spending time with and getting to know new dogs, I am patient and can adapt well to various different dog types. With a gentle but firm approach with dogs I find that the dogs listen and respond well to me. I will be available Mondays and Wednesdays all day and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, before noon and after 4 until the middle of June when school lets out. I am also available all day on weekends for those who work weekends.

Nick has been walking and caring for my pup for a few years. She is an anxious old lady and Nick shows her patience and love along with firm boundaries and as a result he has her respect and loyalty. We are so grateful for Nicks presence in our lives. I trust him with my sweet pup, I trust him with my house. He is respectful and non-judgemental. He is professional and the best dog walker ever!

Information Nicholas G. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if a dog is protective over food or over their bed or crate, being able to know and avoid what makes a dog feel anxious or uncomfortable is very important, I would also like to know if the dog can be aggressive towards other dogs, and in what situations. I do not have breed preferences but I have the most experience watching golden retrievers, labs, and herding dogs.

A typical day

Living in South East Portland I am a short walk from both Mt. Tabor and Laurelhurst parks, I also know the area out in trout dale around the sandy river, I have spent many hours taking dogs out to the river for swimming and hiking. I also enjoy playing fetch or throwing the frisbee for the pups, I can also take dogs for a run, I generally go in between two and five miles on my runs.
