I am Nana to most. I do have two grandchildren who live with me they are 13 years old and 16 years old. We recently had to say goodbye to a Shar-Pei who was part of our family for 13 years. It was very heartbreaking. She had been with the children all their lives and gave us much joy and love. Before that I had a chihuahua who was the love of my life and I had 13 wonderful years with him. It is hard to endure the loss but it is worth it with all the unconditional benefits they bring. We now have two cats and several small creatures that are in cages. We love animals for their ability to forgive the unperfect mix of humans. It just seems natural to share our environment with them. When you have a hard day it is so rewarding to have a dog or cat come up to you as if they understand and just want to comfort and support you in any way their little hearts can. I think it will be a very effortless position to work as walking or caring for dogs and cats. I am available on evenings and weekends mostly but will also be happy to negotiate with your needs.
