Hello i'm Nathan. I live in a house with my fiance Lindsey. We recently lost Benji, our 4 year old red nosed Staffordshire terrier to lymphoma and we loved him dearly. I went running with him every single day, played tons of tug-o-war, and we slept on top of each other. It was devastating having to put him down, but I'm confident he couldn't have had a happier life. Now my fiance and I have lots of love and time to give to your precious furry family members. I'm finishing up an engineering degree and i'm in class part time right now so I'm home for large chunks of time. Lindsey is working full time at Chick-fil-A's Support Center. I have class from 1-3pm Monday-Thursday. So if your furry friend needs a place to stay for a long weekend away, we would be more than happy to have a buddy to love on and play with for a few days. We love spending time outdoors, especially with the weather starting to cool off. I feel comfortable walking and staying in control of big strong dogs. I'm 6'2'' and 220 lbs so it shouldn't be a problem if you have a big energetic dog who needs exercise. I'm actually used to it, because that's how Benji was. I'm always mindful of our surroundings when we are out together. There's a school nearby my house with a big open area to sniff around. I would take our dog Benji there all the time. I always make sure to bring a backpack with water and a bowl - Benji's meds would make him hot and thirsty. I'm very gentle. I enjoy figuring out what makes a dog tick and getting to know their personality. Every dog is different, and getting to know them is the best part! We have lots of toys including kongs, frisbees, balls, and ropes! We also have a large sized kennel if your pet needs a "safe place" in a new house with new people. Benji would get anxious when meeting someone new and would show some aggression as a result, but we would always take things slow and we never had a problem. After just a few minutes, Benji would calm down and would start bringing the new person every toy in the house, begging to play. If your dog displays similar behavior, I have experience dealing with fearful aggression in big, strong dogs and i understand it. I'm confident we can make it work and still enjoy our time together. Our backyard is big and secure. Our dog Benji could get most of his body over the top of a 6 foot wood fence with a running start, but he never made it out of our backyard. Regardless, your pet will always be supervised, cared for, and never left unattended. If I do have to leave the house for any reason, your dog will most definitely be inside either chilling in the living room or in the kennel depending on the dog, how they're trained, and of course their own personal preference. So if you're looking for someone to keep your loved one safe, entertained, and happy, you've found the right people. At the end of the day we simply care, and its impossible for us not to.
