Dogs are my spirit animals!
Pet care experience
Hi there, woof! I’m a loving and assertive pack leader who also has a tendency to roll around on the floor with fur kids. I was a professional dog trainer in the past (Canada) many years ago. My philosophy is more aligned with what Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) teaches: cool, calm, assertive. I am proud of the fact that we can take our own dog Franky anywhere, in almost any setting, and know he will be respectful and well-behaved. I’ve been guardian/parent to a variety of dog breeds and personalities: American Staffy, Doberman, Westie, Boarder Collie, Blue Heeler, cats, guinea pigs, fish, chickens, goats and horses. I have experience looking after my own critters as well as those of others, in private home and hobby farm settings. I appreciate all species of living things, but dogs are for sure my favorite. My hubby and I live in a quiet neighborhood with a small, enclosed yard. Our daily walks with our own little dog Franky, take us around our neighborhood along safe paths and sidewalks. We live in a condo, where it is clean, cozy and quiet for us, our four-legged guests and our neighbors. We are respectful of our neighbors, therefore we do not encourage excessive barking, from canines or humans! ;0)
Reviews
I met Natalie when she was a volunteer for a no kill shelter in Charleston SC. I immediately saw her love and passion for making a difference in the lives of the pets needing help in the Low Country. My husband and I just took a long vacation to Oregon. Natalie was willing to take on the job of managing my zoo. We have 9 dogs ranging from a 7 lb chihuahua to a 160 lb Great Pyrenees. Each one has a little different eating routine. I also have a mule, donkey and a goat. We have about 30 chickens, turkeys, ducks and guineas. We have a pond full of fish and turtles to feed as well. We also have rehomed many feral cats that are also fed daily. In the house we have 2 Quaker parrots and an African Gray. Natalie did a great job! She was so excited about bonding with my animals. All have been rescued. I did not worry one second with Natalie watching the brood. She is very meticulous and her love of animals makes her an excellent pet caregiver. I would recommend her to anyone who needed the right person to take care of their babies.
Besides being very fond of dogs, Nathalie understands their behaviors. She was a certified dog trainer years ago, and it’s obvious she still applies those skills with her own dog and with others. I’ve known Nat for a couple of years now, as a friend and as a roommate/renter. She is reliable, honest and sincere in paying bills on time and being respectful of my home and yard. Nat likes to contribute by doing extra things around the house and yard. I recommend Nathalie to take care of your pets, plants and your home.
Nat is a nature lover and forever curious about nature's inhabitants. She is excellent at sharing her knowledge of all types of animals. Her approach to raising or sitting dogs is done with love and making absolutely sure her little friends are safe, fed and given affection. She is very calm and assertive in situations where a dog is nervous or senses a threat, real or not. I would let Nathalie sit my dog any time.

We have a small, enclosed yard best suited for smaller dogs or those who aren’t keen on digging or escaping. We keep a close eye on our own pup, and I make sure any animal in my care is safe, happy, fed/watered and cuddled. There are no noxious or poisonous plants in/around our home.

Information Nathalie P. would like to know about your pet
It’s great to know whatever the pet parents wish to share. We created a “how-to” booklet for when our own dog goes to stay at our sitter’s house. We’re a no-nonsense household, and we follow a lot of the “dog whisperer’s” philosophies.
A typical day
Low key inside (AC) when the weather is too hot outside. Our back yard is small, but big enough for little paws to explore. Our furry guests expect to hang out with our dog Franky, who LOVES to play, but can be respectful of dogs who are a bit shy or lower energy. We enjoy walking around our neighborhoods, so 1-hour or shorter walks are the norm.

Availability
I work from home for the most part, so does my hubby. We routinely take breaks throughout the day for ourselves and our little dog. We take a daily walk, ranging from 30 to 60 mins, at the end of the day.
