REGARDING COVID-19 - I am taking animals during this time and am complying with mask wearing and distancing during pick up ands drop offs. If anyone has a hardship during this crisis let me know and I am happy to work with you on fees or waive sitting fees. From what I have researched pets are unlikely to get or transmit the virus. My house has been illness free thus far and I realize pets need services for a variety of reasons. Vet services are an essential business, so I'm treating pet sitting similarly. Let me know if you have questions about this! I am using a gentle cleanser to wipe down items you bring upon return (please only bring minimal items like leashes, food, meds as I have toys, beds, bowls, etc.). Also - just a reminder please keep your pets vaccinated as well for things that they can get such as kennel cough. About me: I enjoy having all sorts of creatures come to our house for visits. I have been dogsitting and catsitting (and even rabbit sitting) at my house for many years. I have experience with puppies, large breeds, and small breeds. Our home is welcoming and pet friendly. I make sure the visitors are safe and well cared for. If you have a hardship or emergency and need temporary housing for your pet and cannot afford the rate, please contact me to see if we can work something out. We have two cattle dogs and a cat and they get along well with others. We have a fenced yard in a forested setting away from other homes in the neighborhood, so barking does not bother anyone. Doggies are watched while outdoors and walks are on leash. Kitties are not allowed outside here so we make sure they are safe and contained in the house. Our pets are up on all of their vaccinations (both Lily and Ziggy had flu shot/booster, kennel cough vaccinations recently), and my kitty is free of Feline immunodeficiency virus, so we would have to decline sitting for kitties who are afflicted unless we can make arrangements to segregate them in our guest room or provide visitation at your home. If your dog or cat is in heat or not altered, please contact me to discuss behavior so that we can avoid uncomfortable situations. Also, if your animal has issues with urination/spraying behavior, digestion issues, behavioral habits such as chewing/biting, or aggressiveness behavior, please let me know in advance so that I can anticipate possible issues. We are happy to host any type of creature that needs special attention. I work from home most days so am available to dote on your pets. We have hardwood and tile flooring (so not a big problem with any messes or accidents that happen as easy to clean) and lots of doggie beds and blankets to ensure everyone is comfortable. We have a guest bedroom for pets that prefer to be alone or need solace. Barking doggies are OK too as we are distanced from our neighbors and they know we have a pet friendly house. I grew up on a ranch where I cared for and raised a variety of animals, and I can deliver medications and injections if required for your pets. Our couch is always covered in blankets which I wash weekly for cleanliness, so it's not a problem if the pets are allowed on furniture. We have a large multi-level house and or fenced yard opens to forest service trails for leashed walks. I have pet sat everything from tiny Chihuahuas and Rat Terriers, up to Great Danes and giant Russian Mastiffs. I am kind and compassionate towards animals and defer to their parent for guidance on correcting behavior. Generally when we have a group of dogs in the house they follow pack mentality by looking at my dogs for guidance. For those I have pet sat for repeatedly, they say that their dogs are excited to come to my house because it is play time! I give extra attention to pets visiting so that they feel comfortable and unafraid of a new surrounding. They usually get the hang of things right away by looking to my dogs and following their lead when it is time to eat, go outside, play, or bedtime. We provide water and food bowls, towels, dog beds, toys, and we also have extra leashes. I request instructions on mealtimes and medications, and we can provide food, or it's always best to bring the food your pet is used to. Also, I ask that you please keep your pet current on vaccinations. I know that all pets are special and have their quirky behaviors, so I try to observe and understand what their anxieties might be or what they are wanting or asking for. I am happy to have you inspect our home or bring your pet for introduction prior to drop off if it makes you more comfortable. We are very flexible on drop off and pick up times and can work with your schedule as needed. I look forward to hosting your pet in our animal palace!
