Home Away From Home!

Pet care experience

*Using Rover.com for the first time? Use my code: NATALIE 20 (<- no space between) to get $20 in Rover Bucks towards your first stay with me or any other sitter! :) [only valid for first time users on their first Rover stay]* Hi! If you need a sitter for your pet look no further because you just found their second home :) I've been on Rover for a few years now and its truly been a great experience. I love all the new dogs I've met along the way, some of which have become a part of our extended furry family. I have recently moved to New Orleans although I do occasionally go back to Houston for some periods of time. My mother is still at the Houston house and is willing to care for any past clients we have had as well as new clients as long as their pet is calmer, more on the relaxed side, who are well behaved and house trained. The Houston house is large with a LARGE, secure, tall fenced in front yard and separate secure, tall, fenced in backyard with a doggie door attached giving your dog the freedom to go outside whenever he wants to potty or play (supervised). Your dog will go on daily walks around the neighborhood, as long as that is okay with you. Your pet will be allowed to walk about my house as if he owns the place and sleep in the bedroom. As long as your pet is clean, he can sleep like royalty on a large king size Tempurpedic bed. In the bedroom there is also a full size couch and plenty of room for dog beds, blankets, and even a kennel of any size so he doesn't have to sleep totally alone (We have a large kennel that we don't use if your buddy's kennel trained). Sheba is our german shepherd who lives at the Houston house and is the only other pet there. She is a service dog who is extremely well behaved and submissive to aggression. She loves to play fetch, tug of war, follow the leader etc. so if you have a dog that likes to play with other dogs she is your gal and she will only play if invited by your dog. She is also very intuitive to dogs that are shy or more solitary and will leave them alone, minding her business. She barks at people at the door but I swear she is all bark and no bite despite how loud she can be. As for the NOLA/Metairie house, I only have one pet here and he is a one and a half year old cat named Sylvester. He is very playful and gets along with dogs, but if your dog is not fond of cats I can keep them separated. Your dog will have the freedom to roam my house and follow me around or rest his bones wherever he pleases. I have a small fenced in back yard but I live near Metairie Park and am very active so if you have a high energy dog I can surely provide him with the proper exercise and stimulation. As long as your pet is clean he can cuddle and sleep in my bed with me. I'm currently working out of home with light flexible hours and doing this, so your pet will be receiving TONS of attention, exercise, and love throughout day. I'm super flexible with requests so if you have any specific questions or concerns please shoot me a line and we can talk specifics or set up a meet and greet! I also offer doggy daycare! :) I really look forward to meeting you and your furry friend!! Why I love dog sitting I hold a strong compassion for animals and I would certainly consider myself an advocate for them. Having had pets my entire life, I've always shared that incredible bond with both dogs and cats. They are truly fascinating and I enjoy learning about different breeds and their histories. I love how they each have they're own little (or big!) personalities and developing trusting relationships with them where they feel secure and comfortable. Also I lead a healthy lifestyle where I love being active outdoors and my dogs, while still strong and able, are getting older so having extra buddies to run around with is a HUGE plus! About my yard Houston: I have a very large fenced in backyard with trees, grass, and a covered patio allowing your pet to be outside while staying out of the sun or rain if they please. There is also a doggy door so they can come in and out as much as they'd like. New Orleans: I have a small fenced in backyard. I live near Metairie park. My experience administering medication I'm comfortable administering any type of medication. So far I've only dealt with pills and suppositories but I could administer shots as well.

Natalie was great with Koda! She kept me updated with pictures that looked like he was having a blast while in her care. She even introduced Koda to her cat and he was perfectly cool with it. I could definitely tell Koda was a happy well cared for pup when I picked him up. I will definitely be using her again in the future.

Natalie was absolutely amazing with my parents young dog. They were very nervous about leaving him for the first time due to the separation as well as his energy level. Natalie went above and beyond with him. I will absolutely book with her again!

Information Natalie W. would like to know about your pet

What sort of temperament does your dog have? Any naughty behaviors or special quirks I should be aware of? Any aggressive behaviors and if so their triggers? Does he get along with other dogs and people? Medications or Allergies, if any. Energy level. etc. Ideally I like for my clients pets to get along with mine but I also have the option of keeping them separated need be, while still getting more than enough love, exercise, and attention. If that is case just let me know what concerns there may be so I can assess whether it's a good fit to ensure your pet has a comfortable and enjoyable stay just as if he's at home. Once a stay is booked there is an area within the booking for you to get specific (if you'd like) with care instructions, tips, etc. Below are some extra non essentials we can cover on a meet and greet or you can put in that area :) Extra stuff I like to know: Does your dog play? If so whats their favorite game? Anything that they love or makes them extra happy? Like a toy or maybe a back scratch? Special tricks or commands they know? I want your pet to feel totally comfortable, happy, and at home so if there are any tips please let me know!

A typical day

I lead a very active lifestyle and love to take your dog on walks/runs daily around my neighborhood and at parks. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will have the freedom to sleep on an endless amount of surfaces (as long as they're clean). From comfy dog beds to different floor types (wood, tile, carpet), couches, beds, my bed. They can sleep wherever they feel most comfortable. There is a couch in my bedroom they can sleep on if they aren't the cuddly type and I have a large kennel that I can set up with blankets/bone/water/etc. in my room or downstairs if you prefer them to be kenneled at bed time. Time I'll spend with your dog I plan on spending hours with your dog, ensuring that he/she is comfortable, relaxed, and getting plenty of exercise, play, and cuddle time. This includes playing outside (fetch, tug o war, etc), going on runs, going to dog parks, bringing them with me to lunch or dog friendly areas (as long as they are well behaved/trained), sleeping with them, watching movies with them.. I am extremely active so I enjoy being outdoors moving alongside your furry friend.
