Experienced with vet assisting.

Pet care experience

I grew up having cats, dogs, and up to 14 rabbits (yes, at once) my whole life. I found a passion for caring for animals about seven years ago when I attended school to get my certification in Veterinary Assisting. During my time in school, I took an internship at my local animal shelter. I assisted in surgery, provided medical care, providing vaccinations, feeding, and cleaning over 50 animals a day. In other words, I had my hands on every single animal that came through the shelter at one point. Once my internship was over, they asked me to stay as an Isolation Technician and Veterinary Assistance. I was employed there for a little over two years. From there, I worked as a Kennel Technician at a private practice that was much more laid back and routine. I would provide care from 1 dog to up to 60 at a time. These dogs ranged from many different breeds and temperaments. I worked there for a little under 4 years. Now, Unfortunately, I no longer work with animals, so I get my puppy fix by taking care of other people's pets. I cannot imagine my life without caring for animals or having them in my life. In my downtime, I foster for the animal shelter I was once employed at. I will take feral/ nervous cats, bottle baby kittens, or sick animals whom I nurse back to health. I truly hope you can find comfort that your fur baby will be treated as one of my own (if you could ask one of my 4 cats they'd gloat about how spoiled they are). Not only do I want your pet's visit to go well, but I also want their humans to remain stress-free and feel comfortable leaving their pets with me. I always stress to ask me anything you'd like and bug me as frequently as needed. I have recently started a Facebook page which you can check out! It's called N.R Pet Sitting, feel free to give me a like! I wanted to start this so my clients on Rover and off of Rover can get to know me better along with see what we've been up to (animal wise).

I was apprehensive about leaving Sadie overnight for the first time. After the meet and greet I knew she’d be in good hands. Natalie kept me updated and sent pictures and even a video! I would definitely have Natalie keep her again. Thanks so much for taking good care of her!

My puppy had a wonderful time. I go to work early and Nicole was very accommodating. Hopefully we'll see them again soon

Safety, trust & environment

As I am home all the time, I will be able to bring your pet out for potty breaks or walks as frequently as needed. Depending on the dog, I like to go for a walk 2-3 times a day around our neighborhood (anytime from a half hour to an hour). I do not have a fenced in yard so I will need a leash and a collar/harness to walk them. I do have some dog toys at home incase they want to play. My daughter tend to love doing this. For animals with high energy, as long as they do not have any allergies I will sometimes fill a Kong or a toy with peanut butter to keep their little brains busy. Given my background you can trust that I know how to act given an emergency occurs (lets hope this never happens). I do like to have the contact information to their vet incase I need to get in contact to them. In case of an emergency there are two E clinics in Maine, both about 30-45 minutes away. My overall goal is to provide your dog with a routine similar to what they are used to at home. I want to ensure your pop is not stressed and feels comfortable around me and my family.

A typical day

I want to keep things as stress free for the pup as possible so I will typically feed and walk at the times they are used to. If they seem "pent up" or stressed out I can bring them out for an extra walk and do some exploring. I have a big neighborhood so there is plenty to sniff!

**UPDATE** Starting mid-November-April I will be stepping away from pup sitting; we are expecting a little bundle of joy (not of the furry kind) and will be taking this time to get ready and spend time with our newborn. With this being said- please feel free to reach out. Depending on how things are going, I may be able to open up some availability. I now work for Wayfair and I am currently working from home. I am up and ready to go by 6 AM, so If your pet is a "wake up at 5 in the morning" kind of pup I am completely OK with this! Because I work from home I will be able to constantly supervise your pet and provide them with care throughout the day.
