*accepting new clients* I prefer to prioritize a handful of families year round and build a relationship with the animals I care for rather than have to turn down said families for any and all requests. This is something I do because I enjoy it, not as a full time job. I strive to treat every animal I care for as I would want someone to care for mine. This for me includes a walk/activity at least once a day, affection/treats and a photo to the owner. I’ve tried to upload some of my many pictures of the animals I’ve cared for in the last 10 years. Some through Rover and some not. A photo is worth a thousand words, right? Some view animal care as casual but I think there’s a big level of trust involved with caring for an owners home and pets. I have been with all of my clients for over 4 years at this point and prefer to help a rolodex of 10 owners a year round rather than have a calendar filled with dogs in unfamiliar with. A little about me- I grew up with 3-4 dogs at all times, 5 cats, birds and fish. My chores growing up were to handle the animal care so this is a gig that is rather intuitive for me. I don’t think there’s a scenario I haven’t experienced yet.

Our dogs loved Natalie and she was able to provide them with love. We had hired Natalie for 24 hours and in that time she let us know that she had plans to attend dinner and go to Legoland the next day. This was fine as we had no other options and assumed that all of our directions would be followed. Unfortunately there were a few issues including lack of communication, an accident our youngest had on our fire place, and poop left in the backyard. In addition we explicitly asked for the dogs to be walked separately at certain times and this was not followed leading to the fireplace accident when we came home (our youngest will not empty her bladder if walked with our other dog). We tried to resolve the issue by letting her know that these were issues for us and we were met with defensiveness and blame. We had left two pages of instructions that covered all of the necessary instructions and she had stated that this was not sufficient. We have learned from this experience and were able to resolve the issue internally with Rover as they understood based off our communication that this was stressful and not ideal. This review is not intended to be personal as Natalie is a wonderful person and liked by our dogs.

This is typically unique to each individual dogs social preference. For dogs not so keen on social interaction with others I would walk around the neighborhood on leash. Otherwise with more socially driven dogs I love a good hike, beach or dog park!

I have a flexible work schedule being remote. I’m able to accommodate whatever suits your pets, usually. It’s different for every pet and is something I like to discuss at the meet and greet.
