HOME FT, Can work with your budget

Pet care experience

Your dogs second best friend! I am a former dog walker looking to fill some extra time I have, what better way to fill it with your good boy/girl! If your pet has food limitations they're in luck as I am the owner of Dognut Cafe; organically handmade pet treats and pizzas! Presently I am dog-less, Kaiser passed 2 years ago. Ava is with my ex as my new building doesn't take large breed / highly reactive dogs. I am missing my canine companions and would appreciate the opportunity to fill that void with your furbabies; I certainly would treat your dogs as though they are my own. I instantly fall in love with every dog I meet! And... My son certainly takes after his Mom! He respects each dogs space, doesn't stare them in the eyes, and loves and respects them all the same. As a pet care giver I would ensure your dog is clean before returning home, as well as leave a journal entry or a note behind informing you of our day. I can even send you photos during our time together. I can also do live videos, special occasions photo (Winter Solstice Reindeer / Christmas Stocking, Easter Doggy, National dog day, Halloween Costume Walk...) I have my first aid and pet first aid, so I can administer medications (need written directions for insurance purposes) as well as give them all the love they need while awaiting your return.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with Natalie M. Everything was great up until the sitting, she was communicative and friendly. We booked her services for one day for two dogs while we attended a funeral. We told her through text and in person that morning that we could be finished early at the funeral early, but the latest we would return would be 4 pm. The furneral did finish up early and we texted her to give her a 20 minute heads up of our arrival, she did not respond. I texted her when we arrived, she did not respond. It was apparent her vehicle was not there. Her phone number was posted on her door, I called a couple of times, no answer. We could hear our dogs in the house, stress barking. I called the Rover emergency line, they said they would try to contact her, but to wait until 4 pm to escalate further. I tried her again, no answer. She finally acknowledged my texts and calls at 3:45, arrived after 4 pm, which was later than my booking. Her excuse was that she went to her sister’s to nap. When she let our dogs of her house, she was holding her toddler and did nothing to help ensure the dogs didn’t get out of the gate, they were so stressed, it was chaotic and one ran out onto the road! When you are being paid to provide a service to someone, you should be: 1) present to provide the services unless of an emergency or extenuating circumstances; 2) communicating with the client what you are doing, where you will be, etc. 3) accessible to communicate by phone or text, especially close to drop off and pick up times. My family and I sat on her front lawn for an hour in our funeral attire waiting for her to return from a nap. We were already emotionally exhausted from a very difficult day. We then had a 3.5 hour drive home, which she knew about. This was our first experience with Rover.com, it was horrible.

Natalie took excellent care of our pup! We got lots of photo updates throughout the day and she looked so happy and content in Natalie’s home. She was very attentive to our dogs food allergies. We will absolutely rebook with her in the future!

Our dogs had a wonderful time. They were well cared for and spoilt with lots of love and fun play times. They came home very tired from all the fun they had.

Natalie was great. She took over from my regular dog sitter who needed to go to family funerals out of province for a few days. She showed great flexibility, dedication, responsibility and the dogs loved her.

There is no fenced yard, so your dog (depending on limits) will be relived regularly. During assessment with any pet service provider it's important to discuss limitations and the length of time a dog can be left alone. This will be clearly outlined during our first meeting. Please note this is a household so there is human activity occurring; we leave to grocery shop, run errands, have friends and neighbours pop in. ALL of which will be in the best interest of the animals during this time away, and minimized if discussed prior to.
