Animal Behavior Degree/Vet Tech!

Pet care experience

I have a bachelor's of Science in Biology and Psychology with a focus in animal behavior. I currently work at an animal hospital as a veterinary technician and am working on my certification. I have worked in animal welfare field for several years with dogs, cats and many other critters alike! I can help with ongoing training, giving medications if needed and providing extra enrichment for your furry family! I also have experience with strong pullers! I am flexible and can stop by early in the morning or at night to give your dog that extra walk for those busy nights or crazy mornings. My schedule varies through out the week so just let me know when you need a dog sitter/walker. I am located in the Eagan area. Hire me to give your dog that extra bit of love!

Natalie did a great job taking care of my two dogs! She even worked with them on some of the skills they’ve been learning. I would definitely have her stay with them again!

Natalie stayed in our home with our pets for 2 weeks. While with them, she provided lots of interesting play opportunities such as nose work, dog parks and walks. Our neighbors reported that our dogs seemed comfortable with her when they saw her in the back yard or on walks. Natalie has been quite responsive to our requests for providing specific things for our pets when requested. She is a friendly young woman with lots of experience and education around animal care. We look forward to the next time we have her.

I have known Natalie for approx. 3 years through our involvement with the Humane Society of Portage County (HSPC). She formerly worked at HSPC as the Animal Care Staff, Adoption Support and various other random duties. I currently serve on the Board of Directors, act in partial as the Volunteer Coordinator and head the Lead Dog Walker Team. She has a strong dedication not only to the animal’s physical welfare but also their mental well-being. Natalie always goes above and beyond, it was a true pleasure getting to know her. She's been exposed to all variations in canine and feline behavior from aggression to those that shut down in fear as well as many high-energy, hyperactive animals. She shows patience and kindness to every animal that comes into contact with her as well as a desire to learn from each individual experience. She is always looking for new ways to expand and implement her knowledge of animals. Natalie will make an excellent and talented pet sitter and dog walker.

Natalie is truly incredible with animals. I met her through an animal shelter she was working for, and it was immediately clear to me that she was compassionate, skilled, and very caring. She is kind enough to take care of my cats when I go away. One of my cats needs a daily medication and she is NOT good about taking it! Natalie had no problem administering the medication - and my cat still liked her afterwards! And even my other cat, who is shy and standoffish, loves Natalie! Before meeting Natalie, I felt anxious every time I had to leave my cats alone. I can't express how grateful I am for the peace of mind I feel now, knowing that I am leaving them in the hands of a true animal lover, who is competent, thoughtful, and who has a remarkable way with animals.

Information Natalie K. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know general temperament, any favorite toys or activities, any health or medical issues, and any triggers for the dog along with any commands he/she might know. I do work full time as well up to 10-12 hour shifts at a time. If your dog needs frequent potty breaks, then I am unfortunately not a good fit

A typical day

We will enjoy the beauty (and smells!) of nature! I commonly take dogs along trails for not only physical excercise but for some mental excercise for their nose! I like doing basic scent work, especially for those fast eaters!
