Animal Loving College Student
Pet care experience
I am a college student who loves animals and is looking to care for dogs in my extra time. I have four large dogs myself (three Labradors and a German Shepherd mix) who I consider family and have grown up with on my family's seven-acre avocado farm in Fillmore. I am open to walking any size or breed, however, I am much more used to 50-125+ lb. dogs, so I would probably be a better fit for pets within this range. As I have had my labradors since they were puppies, I do have experience with their puppy behaviors, and I am willing to work on training them according to your preferred style. I can handle dogs who are high-energy, laid back, and anywhere in between. I do prefer to stay within Fillmore and Moorpark, but I am willing to work a little outside these areas if I seem like a good choice for you and you and your furry family. I look forward to working with you!

I would like to know if your dog is at all aggressive, and whether or not you have a high-energy dog so I can prepare for that. I would also like to be informed about any noteworthy behaviors--for example, as soon as my 130 lb. labrador Henry sees a small animal within a half mile of him, he takes off running in an attempt to sniff it. As he weighs more than I do, I need to develop strategies to keep him from doing so, such as wrapping his leash around the nearest fence or pole until the animal passes. Feeding schedules are another thing I would want to keep in mind. These kinds of things are good to know.
A typical day
I genuinely love taking walks in my free time, so I am able to do anything from short walks around the block to longer walks to local parks and creeks. Resting in the Fillmore Sespe Creek is one of my dog Henry's favorite activities. I can also play fetch, play tug-of-war (though I often lose), and partake in any of your dog's other favorite games or activities. I'm always down for cuddles, too, if your dog is more on the mellow side.
