Over the years, I have dogsat for several families in the neighborhood, ranging from taking them out for a long walk to staying overnight. I have a 13 year old labradoodle, Finn, who has taught a lot about what a dog needs when it comes to food, whether or not he wants to snuggle, when he thinks he deserves a treat, and his daily routine. With his help, I have managed to get a pretty good handle on the language of dogs. In my spare time I like to volunteer at the Richmond Animal League, so I have experience with dogs big and small, old and young. Some of the responsibilities involved cleaning the crates, walking the dogs, and checking in with the dog trainers to make sure they are getting what they need. As a student at VCU, my schedule is very flexible. I love fitting in walks throughout my day, and am happy to stay overnight when people go out of town. I have a car so it is easy for me to get to place to place.
