I prefer being in my client's home so that way at least the fur baby I'm watching is in their own space and can feel more confident. In my client's home I take note what areas is off limits to their animals, what are some personality "quirks" I should be made aware of, and I make sure I have a good lay of the land and introduce myself to the pet in a manner that makes them feel relaxed and assures them that I am no threat. I do typically send owners daily pictures of their babies and always offer face-timing in case they want their pets to hear their voice while they're away. I believe that gaining an animal's trust is step one to a great experience with as little stress as possible.
