When I met Naomi she had a beautiful and enormous puffball of a dog named Mattie. She doted on this dog. Because Mattie was older she could no longer go on their former hiking adventures, but every day Naomi would walk her through the neighborhood and play ball in the yard. Mattie passed away a few years ago and Naomi was devastated. She stayed by her partner's side day and night at the vet until the moment she was gone. Mattie has not been replaced, but Naomi lights up like nothing else when she sees a dog go by. She will stop and turn around just to say hello. She was also a nanny and dog sitter for a family for many years, and their dog Sancho had several health problems. Naomi is very active, but she doesn't discriminate against dogs. She loves tough hikes with energetic types but gets just as much joy from taking an old boy like Sancho shuffling around the neighborhood.
