A Vacation For Your Dog On A Farm
Pet care experience
I am retired from a career of Social Work. I am at home almost all of the time to be with your pet. I provide loving care to all dogs who come to stay. I enjoy dog sitting very much. I have a good selection of toys. Dogs can sleep with me if they want to. The farm is agricultural. There are no farm animals. Presently there are no neighborhood dogs here. About this sitter: I live on 350 private acres of farmland, woods, where there are many trails for your dog to investigate with me---I love it as much as they do! I live with my small dog, who goes outside by herself. She easily accepts all visiting dogs with no jealousy when I give them attention. We are loving, peaceful, and happy. Location: 10 minutes from the intersection of 52 S and 85 S. I am 11 miles east of Mocksville and 11 miles west of the city of Lexington, off 64 W. I am 8 miles west of the Childress Winery. Why I love dog sitting: I have always loved dogs, and have had one or two for most of my life. I have been dog sitting for 7 years. I love it. Meeting and caring for dogs who come to stay is a real treat. Every one of them is unique with their own personality. I am happy to be able to spend so much time with my visiting dogs since I am retired. Meet my pet: My dog easily accepts visiting dogs and hardly ever gets jealous. If she does get jealous, it is always when the dog and parents come to meet us for the first time. A little loving is all she needs. Once they are here to stay she doesn't ever get jealous. She roams freely outside when she wants to, and usually sleeps inside at night unless it is warm outside. Then she likes to sleep on the porch. About my yard: I live on a 350 acre farm which is private with no thru traffic. I do not have a fenced yard but I do have several long lead lines which I can use if needed, but generally I go outside with them. I enjoy walking, so we will be doing as much of that as your dog requires and want. It is very private here and very safe as I am off a private road.
Reviews
Shes always an awesome sitter! Lottie has the best relationship with her!
Biggie and Penny seemed to have a great stay with Nancy, Biggie even lost a little weight (which he needed) from running around the woods. Thank you so much for caring for our babies while we were abroad.
Nancy was great. Rossi really enjoyed his stay
Nancy was great! This was my first time leaving my dogs with someone they didn’t know since moving to Charlotte! My one dog can be a little difficult at times but she reassured me he did great the whole time. She sent updates and pictures during the time we were gone! She is a super sweet lady and we will definitely use her again! She really cares about dogs and loves being around them. My dogs were even allowed to sleep in bed with her at night which I’m sure made them feel much more comfortable while we were gone.

Here's where we'll take our walks. There is a large variety of trails here to walk on. A dirt road goes past wooded and farm areas and it is a mile long walk to the river. There are trails thru the woods as well. This area is home to many deer, rabbits, and other wildlife, and your dog will immensely enjoy smelling their tracks. A dog's primary sense is his smell, and with so many varieties of smells here it is a sort of doggy wonderland. There are no people or dogs out there. Just the wonder of nature. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Some visitors sleep in their own beds which are provided by you. I also have no problem with your dog sleeping with me, and the majority of dogs who come here presently do sleep with me. Time I'll spend with your dog I am here all day most days, so I spend almost all of my waking hours with your dog.
