Pet care experience
Hello to all! Four years ago, when I made the move from New Jersey to Maryland to start my job at the Food and Drug Administration, I began doing Rover. After a few months of doing this, I was hooked and decided to continue it as a part-time fun job. During the pandemic, I took a break and adopted two huskies of my own. I recently bought a house and made it dog-friendly by installing a 6-foot tall fence in the backyard for my two fur-babies. The home also has an automated doggy door so the pups can come and go as they please. Toki (3 years old) and Nikki (10 years old) are friendly with both people and other canines. We often take them to a nearby dog park called Bark Social, where Nikki is quite the celebrity. I only offer dog stays at my home and doggy day care, so a meet and greet is necessary to make sure your pup is compatible with my two and that my home and services meet your expectations. I hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Chemical Biology with a focus on Quantitative Biomedicine from Rutgers University. While in graduate school, I was lucky enough to live with roommates that had dogs. I used to live with a miniature dachshund (older) and a young Bernese Mountain Dog (very energetic). I would enjoy coming home and helping my roommates with their doggy responsibilities. I would walk them, bike them, and run with them. Being able to hang out with the dogs was so therapeutic. My husband, David, also works at the FDA and will also be helping with the pups. I have references upon request. I mostly do this for fun and dogs just happen to run into my life. Please browse through all my pictures of all the dogs that I have taken cared of in my home and how they have gotten along well with my two huskies.
Reviews
Nancy is fantastic! She does such a great job understanding the needs of our Mia and communicated updates regularly during her stay. Mia also loved to play with her pups and so it’s a great match at play time and also rest time. We use Nancy regularly and we never have to worry about the care and safety of Mia.
Nancy and her husband were amazing! This was our first time leaving our two labs with her, but we had done a meet and greet earlier to make sure their dogs and ours could co-habitate. Nancy would often reach out with updates and pictures to put our mind at ease. Just a super nice family that I would highly recommend. I would definitely rate them 5 stars.
Mia had a great time with Nancy and her pups! She does a wonderful job with photos, videos and updates and is very understanding of Mia’s needs and patient with her as she acclimates to a new environment! She is now besties with Toki!
Nancy was amazing! She took such good care of Medusa and Medusa couldn't have been happier. Nancy kept me up to date with Medusa's eating, walking, playtime, and sleeping/nap schedule. She sent me a lot of videos and pictures of Medusa having a good time and receiving love which eased my mind and soul immensely since this was the first time Medusa would stayed with a complete stranger.

I have a fenced yard and two friendly huskies to keep your dog company. I will train your dog how to use my smart door so that they feel comfortable going in and out to the deck to smell the outside. I also only like to have dogs from the same family around. This limits how many dogs I can have at once but I like to have more personalized care for your pets.
Home
Information Nancy H. would like to know about your pet
Typical walk times, energy levels, feeding times and quantity (please make sure to bring your pups food necessary for the stay), and any behavior issues or health issues. If you have medicine you would like me to give then please bring along. Note: Withholding important information about your pup’s behavior or health can lead to additional fees (for example, a cleaning fee if your dog is not housetrained) or reservation cancellation during the actual stay where you would be required to make arrangements to pick your pet up and potentially be ineligible for a refund. These questions are meant to protect you, your pup, other pet guests as well as for the health and safety of my home and my pets.
A typical day
We would walk around the neighborhood and enjoy doggy play time in my backyard with my two huskies. Play time includes throwing balls around or setting up the doggy pool during the summer!
