The first step to taking care of a pet is to understand their daily routine and habits. When owners are away, pets get stressed just like children, and the best way to reduce stress is to maintain their familiar schedules and habits. Building a friendly relationship with my client’s pets is vital to caring for their physical and emotional needs to be able to respond to situations that may come up or identify changes in their behavior while the owner is away. I maintain communication with the owner to make sure all their requests are met and any concerns are addressed immediately. When I care for pets, I make sure that they are fed and their litter is clean. Then I take extra time to play with them to make sure they feel calm and cared for.
