FULL-TIME AT HOME CARE
Pet care experience
FULL-TIME AT HOME PET CARE FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND WHILE YOU ARE AWAY. NO UP-CHARGE FOR HOLIDAYS! BOOK NOW! PLEASE CLICK ON "READ MORE" FOR IN-DEPTH INFORMATION. Covid-19 compliant! Until further notice, please practice social distancing. Outdoor meet and greet and drop-off/pick-up by appointment only. New clients may use my one-time promo code for $20 off their first booking. Please ask for the code. Serving Burke, Catawba, and Caldwell counties or on your way to another destination. I am SW of Hickory in Burke county. Convenient to I40, HWY 70, and HWY 321. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION AND FAQ: OUTDOOR ACTIVITY: 6' high fenced yard for exercise and play. Our safe neighborhood has dead-end streets to take brisk walks your dog. Our neighbor allows us to take relaxing walks in his field and around his barns. The dogs love it! I call it our Sniffer Walk. Usually, their noses are to the ground the whole time! I try to find what type of play the pet likes and concentrate on activities that engage the pet mentally and physically. I study how they play with their toys and include those in simple games that involve movement and problem-solving. INDOOR ENVIRONMENT: Environmentally controlled area in the basement with HVAC for comfort. Crates provided for safety during the time I am with another dog, feeding and sleeping. There is a sitting area to provide cuddling or just hanging out together. RATES, BILLING AND BOOKING: Multiple dog discount for additional dogs from the SAME OWNER verified by vaccination records. (EX: Grown children with their own dog are considered a separate client.) Rates are the same for day-time only, overnight boarding, holidays, and extended stays. Extra nights added (extended stays*), while you are away, will be billed in addition to the original payment.* You will be messaged by Rover to confirm the extra nights added and must confirm. Please see the note below for clarification. NOTE: Extending a stay: *Please be aware, if you extend your pet's stay beyond the original reserved dates, you will be charged for the extra days at the same rates above. I will extend the stay through the Rover system and your card will be charged for the added days after you confirm. You must confirm to pay the additional charges through Rover. If unpaid, I will not be able to care for your pet on a future request until the payment due is resolved.* CANCELLATION POLICY: Same Day Clients get a full refund if they cancel BEFORE the stay starts. AFTER the stay starts, they get a 50% refund on the first 7 cancelled days and 100% refund on any days after that. Once you book a stay, you have reserved space and services for your dog. In doing so, your reservation causes a decrease in the room available for other pet owners who may need boarding services. If you anticipate a cancellation, please do so promptly to insure you are refunded per the cancellation policy and free up my calendar for other dog owners. My cancellation policy is set to SAME DAY but is subject to change. If you do not meet the deadline to cancel, Rover will not refund or may only give a partial refund per the cancellation policy. FAQ: HOW DO WE START THE BOARDING PROCESS? You must agree to a Meet & Greet appointment, talk by phone or communicate by messages. We can discuss in-depth, their habits and needs which help me provide customized care. IF I BOOK, WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Dog must be on a leash, more than enough food, treats, and any comfort items you feel the dog needs such as their clean bed, blanket, chews and toys. I have plenty of stainless bowls unless you use a specialty bowl like a slow feeder. I also have crates but you can bring your own. You do not have to put food into separate zip bags for each feeding (your choice). Just provide the measurement of food for each feeding time. Bring proof that vaccinations are up to date. See list below. Your dog must be on a flea and tick protection plan. Heart-worm prevention is recommended but not required. The following vaccines and a copy of proof are required before a stay: Distemper/parvo combination: this vaccine protects against several potentially fatal diseases. Rabies: This disease is fatal for all mammals, including humans. These vaccines are very highly recommended and can prevent very serious diseases. Bordetella: (kennel cough) this vaccine helps prevent or reduce the severity of this serious respiratory infection that can lead to pneumonia. WHAT DO I NEED TO COMPLETE ON ROVER? Please enter brief care instructions and emergency information into Rover when you book. I need to know, in writing, allergies, feeding (times a day and amount) and any medication instructions. The more I know about your dog and his behavior and habits (good or bad) helps me to give better care. You will need to complete the payment process and don't forget the promo code for new clients to save $20! DO YOU TAKE PUPPIES? No puppies or dogs under one-year-old because all vaccinations are not completed until after one year. Puppies need elevated care and are not house trained. They take away time from more mature dogs. All dogs must be neutered or spayed. I do not have breed preferences but 40 lbs. is my weight limit. Larger dogs will be considered. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK? As early as possible! Many owners book months in advance, especially for peak times. I do take short notice (if I have availability), daycare, date night, short or long stays are welcome! WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS? Flexible drop-off and pickup. Please respect my time and the dogs in my care by confirming a drop-off and pick up appointment time. Please, do not arrive unannounced or without an appointment to avoid canine chaos. I am a full-time at-home pet caregiver. I have a routine schedule throughout the day for the dogs and kennel. I also need to maintain my home environment. Our schedule usually starts with an early morning potty break with brief outdoor play and feeding those on a morning schedule. I have multiple, rotating outings for each dog or groups, if compatible with other dogs. Outings could be yard time or walks. The dog yard is 1800 square feet and walks can be road or field. Crate time is when the dog is not with me and during feeding/sleeping.

Information Myra L. would like to know about your pet
The more I know about your dog helps me to take better care of them. I need to know the good and the not so good about your dog's behavior, feeding, and medications.
A typical day
Yard play depends on the dog. Some dogs just want to sniff and meander around the yard. Others want to play with a ball, Frisbee, tug toys, etc. My neighbor allows us to walk in his field and around the barns. I use a 20 ft leash so they can explore without being restrained. We also hang out inside and have cuddle time for the lap dogs.
