Myly was great with Atlas! Will be using her again :)

This was my first time using rover. We decided last minute to board our dog rather than bring her on a trip. Myly was available and accepted our dog, sally, to watch for the weekend. I asked her when a convenient time to bring her over would be and she said “the sooner the better!” So I took her a few hours before we were set to leave. I got a few quick updates right after dropping sally off and I was relieved, mainly because I had never used rover before and didn’t know what to expect. We were set to leave on our trip and as I was as headed out of town I get a message asking if my dog has dandruff and I responded yes (all dogs have some flakes, and she is a black dog, what do you expect?) and she gave the following excuse: “Uhoh. I feel really bad about this and i’m very sorry. my boyfriend and I are medical students and we cannot have dandruff in the clinics. I read it may be contagious. i’m very sorry about this. my mom is a dermatologist and she strongly recommended against having the dog over since we are so busy.“ I was flustered and told her I would come grab her. It was stressful as we were just about to start our drive out of town. We ended up bringing our dog and had to scramble to change plans VERY last minute. Here are my biggest issues, 1. I don’t believe the dandruff bizarre excuse. I reached out to my immediate family members who are doctors and they had NEVER heard or something like this. In addition, if you do work in a medical setting that would prohibit you from watching a dog, why on earth would you be on rover?!?! This excuse doesn’t pass the sniff test to me and I wish she would have given me the real reason. 2. I had to scramble to figure things out on my end. It was stressful and thankfully it all worked out. Rover gave me a refund, and also a discount on a future booking. But the booking had to be during the days of my original booking. Which is crazy! I had my dog boarding cancelled DURING my trip. I didn’t have time to find another person willing to watch my dog. It was an empty offer on Rovers part for a stressful few hours. It was just a mess of an interaction and makes me very hesitant to use rover again.
