Currently I am employed as an Animal Care Technician at the Maryland SPCA on Falls Road. I work 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, for 8 hours a day working with mainly dogs and puppies due my allergies to cats. My role as an Animal Care Tech is to walk the dogs, clean the kennels, feed and enrich them, show them to potential adopters and perform dog to dog meeting for pet owners who already have a dog and need to see how our shelter dogs engage with their dog. As for sitting, I was paid in Summer 2012 to dog sit for a friend while they were traveling for 3 weeks. I stayed in their home and took care of their 4 year old pit bull, Banksy. I've been volunteering to dog sit my mentor and his family's 5 year old Bison's, Klassie and Duchess, and their 2 year Yorkie, Bently, in incremental time (between a day and 3 weeks at a time) periods over the course of 2 years.
