I would not recommend booking with this sitter. My biggest issue is that she agreed to watch my small dog until 5 pm on Friday but contacted me the evening before to ask if I could pick the dog up at 8 am instead as she had chosen to do a double shift at work. I was handling a family emergency in another state more than 7 hours away and had no other options available to me than to pick the dog up on Saturday morning. So, this sitter charged me extra despite this being her mistake and her scheduling issue. In addition I expressed concern that my dog would be left in the cage alone from 8 am to 12 am due to her working a double shift and she said she would have another person walk my dog at 3 pm which made me feel only slightly better in light of my very few options. I wasn’t comfortable with another stranger walking my dog and possibly losing her but what choices did I have? During the entire stay I received 0 pictures or updates about my dog. She also says on her profile that she doesn’t have any pets but she actually does have a dog in the home which she told me after I asked. When I picked up my dog, the dog was visibly distressed and shaking and was incredibly thirsty and dehydrated. I feel like I was left in the dark completely about what was happening with my dog. I booked this sitter based on her 4 star rating and positive reviews but I feel like my dog was neglected and abandoned during the time I was gone which really breaks my heart. I just hope no one else has to experience this for themselves which is why I’m making sure to write and leave a review.
