Pet care experience
My Mom is known as the Dog Whisperer hence I learned from the best! I was raised in a house of dogs: a steady stream of corgis that we acquired as newborn puppies from an incredible breeder, a mutt named Sallie from the Animal Rescue League who lived to be 21, and a variety of pups placed with us as a temporary foster family while awaiting adoption through a rescue service. I regularly dog/house/baby sit in SF & the East Bay and am happy to provide references. Most clients are friends or through word-of-mouth, but I'm enjoying it so much that I hopped on Rover. My landlords don't allow dogs hence it's a pleasure to care for others! While I'm no replacement for you, I genuinely care about the well-being of your dog (and home) and will ensure he/she gets all the care/exercise/attention/play needed while you're away. Dogs are social creatures and get lonely without their humans! I've experience with the following: - crate training (puppy through adulthood) - diabetic dogs - dogs with heart conditions and cancer - ensuring they get the right medication and knowing how to handle an emergency - big athletic dogs that need a run on the beach - little lap dogs w/bladders the size of a pea - best practices for transitioning a puppy into a new home (e.g. put talk radio on at night to help them sleep, socks & shoes go up) - Responsible w/keys - If staying overnight in home, I am more than happy to do basic cleaning of floors, dishes, countertops, towels and bed linens, mail, and any errands if needed. The house will be as you left it or cleaner. :) - basic grooming

Murphy was excellent with our dog Lucy. She kept us informed and we came home to a happy dog and a house cleaner than when we left. Murphy checked our mail and cleaned up the house for us, which was so wonderful after an extended trip. This was the longest we've been away fro Lucy and I felt totally confident she was in great hands with Murphy. I would recommend her to anyone and we would love to have her sit for us again.
It's always hard leaving our fur babies but from the moment I met Murphy for our meet and greet I knew they would be in great hands! She sent pictures of our pups and updated us on how they were doing. She took them on walks daily and kept our place nice and clean. I would definitely recommend her and plan on using booking her next time we go out of town.
I can't speak highly enough about Murphy - she was the perfect dog and house sitter in every way! She took such good care of my slightly needy and very active 10 1/2 year old dog, even taking him all the way to GG park! She sends a good amount of updates and photos, so you know your pup is having a blast. Marley loved her, and I've already booked again for an upcoming trip.
Murphy is the best sitter we have worked with. She may not be a professional sitter; but she is most loving, kind, punctual, communicative, neat; and she even followed up after the sitting to make sure our little girl was ok. We adore Murphy!

No breed preferences! My most extensive experience is with: Corgis (puppies - 16 yrs old) Labs Retrievers Bulldogs - English & French Pugs Retired greyhounds Very old dogs with hip/health problems Rescue Mutts Is there anything you're working on with your dog (e.g. Jerking on leash, nervousness around other dogs) that you'd like me to continue? Is your dog a rescue? If so, do you know if it was ever abused? I witnessed an unfortunate incident at a dog park involving a pit bull that had been severely abused. I love rescue dogs and pit bulls raised in loving homes are fantastic, but I do like to make sure I'm aware if a dog has had an abusive past so I can be sensitive to it. Does your dog have problems around any other dogs, people, or children? Is there anything to be aware of regarding the neighbors or your home? - feeding schedule - medications - anxiety level when you leave
A typical day
House-Sitting Please Note: I have a flexible schedule and usually can work from your home 2-3 weekdays with regular breaks to walk the dog. However, many weekdays I will need to be out for 5-8 hrs for work. I will let you know beforehand so you have your regular walker scheduled. I'm up early (5:30AM ?) hence your dog(s) will be fed, get a good play at the park or long (1+ hr) walk, meds, etc before I leave the house. Home between 4:30 & 6:30. Evenings & Weekends I am there to hang with the pup(s)! Favorite dog parks: Mission Bay, Duboce Triangle, Fort Funston, Golden Gate, 27th St in Noe. - I have a very dog-friendly car (they can't hurt it). always up for tackling the neighborhood hills, various dog parks, Golden Gate, or even on a hike if it's for an extended amount of time. - Beach (if owner okay w/sand and/or surf) - Fetch, tug-o-war - Chill time for ear and tummy scratching & petting. - If owner lets dog(s) on couch, I love letting the pup(s) curl up with me and chill while I read or work. One dog I sit for loves when I use his back as a pillow. They will get lots and lots of love!
