Pampering for ALL species!

Pet care experience

Through Rover I have cared for puppies, cats, chickens, goats, horses, and hedgehogs! I was a nine year 4-H member, and trained all the dogs, horses, and cattle I showed. I majored in agriculture and did my graduate work in animal science. I have a background in equine reproduction and am really passionate about animal behavior, operant conditioning, animal welfare, animal nutrition, and human behavior! I have an adopted Corgi/Blue Heeler, Bengal cat and an adopted Leonberger/Chow mix. The best part of working with animals is watching their confidence grow, both as they handle day to day tasks like walks and social interactions as well as the overall sense of peace that they have in their own and in new environments. My hope, if you choose me to care for your pet, is that I will leave your pet happier and more at ease than when I met them, and that you can have complete peace of mind that your companion was treated with the utmost respect and love. I enjoy assimilating myself into your pets routine, and using my background as a multi-species animal trainer to expand your pets foundation of manners and obedience, while also incorporating new behaviors and socialization if you’re comfortable! A few other tidbits... I am a Myers Briggs ENFP, I adore horticulture/floriculture, and I have it on Mom’s authority that my first word was “dog”. Happy Roving! Have a great day, and feel free to reach out to me any time!

If you are going on vacation or simply taking a night away from your pup - BOOK MORGAN!! When I say that she made our honeymoon that much better by watching our puppy, I’m not exaggerating. I had such horrible anxiety leaving our pup for 6 days as we’ve never left her for over 5 hours before! From the first moment I met Morgan for our meet and greet, I knew that Tuna would be in the best hands. Not only does she have a gigantic dog shaped heart but she also works at guardian K9 which is where we take Tuna for playcare 3 times a week. It made me feel that much more comfortable that Tuna already knew Morgan. The second time we met before leaving for vacation, I was that crazy dog mom that went through 5 pages of notes that I’d written out and she listened to everything with such respect and intent. When the day came that we had to leave, Morgan was sending pictures of Tuna to me within 30-minutes of us leaving. It stayed that consistent the ENTIRE time that we were gone. There was never a moment when I was worried or wondering what she was doing with my pup. She took her on walks, worked on training, taught her new tricks, socialized her, and gave her all of the cuddles. The fact that Morgan kept the line of communication so open and frequent (per my request - I’m confident if you wanted less communication she would abide by whatever your needs are) made our honeymoon so calm and enjoyable. I cannot request Morgan enough for your pups needs. She’s a fantastic person and dog sitter!! We will 10000% use her again when it comes time for us to leave Tuna again!!

Morgan was amazing with my dogs! I got picture updates daily and in videos I could tell how much they love her. I know they tore some things up, because that’s what they do best, and there was no evidence of anything. Highly recommend!

Morgan pupppysat Scooter for several days while we were out of state. I was so nervous to leave him but Morgan kept us up to date on what they were up to with plenty of pics. They went to parks, worked on tricks, and he got plenty of attention while they were at home. Scooter was happy and confident when we returned. He liked her so much he jumped into her car when she was about to leave! She obviously knows a ton about dogs and animals I'm general. I was so grateful to come home to a clean house and a happy pup. I would recommend her to anyone.

MEET & GREET - in person, with pet(s), or virtual | Once you reach out to reserve care for your pet(s), we'll schedule time for a Meet & Greet. It's my pleasure to answer any questions you have about my background and discuss your needs in person or via Zoom, Skype, Facetime, or phone call if that is more convenient. If you have multiple pets and species, I do prefer to do an in-home Meet & Greet, as I've found that routines for multi-species families can be complex! In any case, this time is intended for us to get acquainted with each other and for me to learn your routines to provide excellent continuity of care. I have a complete series of questions we will review that address simple logistics, your pet(s) social and medical history, feed/water/medication/activity routines, and more. If you elect to have our Meet & Greet with your pet(s) (which how Rover designed the Meet & Greet to work) you can further ensure that I'm a good fit for your family by seeing how we interact. During this time, I will ask you to model any training commands you use with your dog as well. If your pet is wanting for social interaction, I'm happy for you both to also meet my rescued Corgi-mix Fenrir (up to date on Rabies, Influenza, Lepto, Parvo, Bordetella, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, fecal test) who is a regular client at various dog daycare facilities in the area and enjoys playing with dogs of all ages, breeds and energy levels! If you prefer, Fenrir can be part of my services as another companion to your pet(s)! DROP IN VISIT | During a drop in visit, I monitor the health, comfort, and mental state of your pet. The first step is to take them outside to relieve themselves or to clean up after them (in the case of cats, caged pets, or hooved animals!). Feed, water, and medications will be administered/replenished. I survey your pet's living area to resolve apparent risks (anything from a downed childproof gate jeopardizing their containment area to a pillow in need of fluffing to a beloved toy that's slipped under the couch out of reach!) For the remainder of the visit, I'll provide mental stimulation and companionship based on their energy level. I'll take them outside once more before encouraging them to model for a few photos which I'll send you via text (and Snapchat if you are a user!) Then I'll reach out to you to touch base about their fecal and urine elimination, feed and water intake, and general state! WALK | A walk includes everything in a drop in visit, but rather than mere companionship or mental stimulation, we'll go out on lead to exercise for the majority of our visit! If you're interested in having me train your pet (reinforcing current training or learning a new behavior), we will spend our time accordingly. Your pet(s) will set the pace. I have canine clients who prefer a jog to a walk, feline clients who prefer a leisurely pace rife with opportunities to smell the roses, and livestock/equine clients who prefer a steadier hand! I bring my own slip lead and retractable lead in the unlikely event their current lead breaks, as well as my own waste bags. If you live in an urban area, I can drive your dog(s) to a nearby park or greenspace, too! I have a large, in-vehicle pet crate which straps into the seat to ensure the safety and security of your pet(s) during travel. HOUSE-SITTING | House sitting is ideal for pets whose parents are out of town for a day or more. I will be with your pet, in home, for twelve hours overnight (usually from 7pm to 7am the following morning). This is the most cost effective option for clients who would otherwise book evening and morning drop in visits. It's also an excellent way to provide a measure of comfort and consistency for your pet(s), enabling you to enjoy your time away with full confidence regarding your furry family's welfare! I'm happy to take your pet to your preferred in-town dog daycare so they can pass the rest of the day under the watchful care of familiar friends! VETERINARY EMERGENCIES | Should any veterinary emergency arise during your absence, I will implement care instructions which we will have agreed upon during the Meet & Greet. In the event I'm unable to contact you directly, I will contact your two emergency back-up contacts and your regular primary care veterinarian, as well as your preferred emergency veterinarian if the illness/injury or time of day requires. I advise all my clients to have arranged payment instructions with their veterinarians and emergency contacts, including post-service billing which you can address upon your return home, use of pet insurance policies, or use of veterinary care credit cards or prepaid cards. COVID-19 | I'm happy to wear a mask during all interactions with you and your pet(s). I will sanitize any surfaces prior to leaving your home.

Information Morgan G. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your pet, I need to know their regular veterinarian and have the appropriate contact information as well as any emergency veterinary protocol you’re comfortable with me pursuing in the event of an emergency. Can I take them directly to the clinic if I can’t contact you, or should I wait for your approval? Does your pet have any medical conditions or tendencies I should be aware of, what are the signs to watch for and how do you prefer I care for them if the symptoms arise? Are there any preferences your pet has? Do they fear anything in particular, enjoy one game more than another, or require a little extra attention if a storm rolls in? What is their average daily routine like and how can I best maintain that for them? Treat and medication at this time, no water after this time, walks before and after meals, not allowed on furniture? I have no breed preferences. There’s no such thing as a bad breed, just owners who have failed to train positive behaviors so commonly that negative stereotypes are reinforced. If you know your dog is aggressive or unmanageable in certain situations, lets do an in person Meet & Greet so we can discuss their common triggers, fears, and territorial behaviors so that I can satisfy your expectations successfully. If you are traveling out of state, please disclose your travel schedule (including flight numbers!) so I can ensure I am available to care for your pet for a full 48 hours after your scheduled return in the event of unforeseen delays or changes.

A typical day

If you and your dog are comfortable with dog parks, I’m happy to take them there! If not, we can explore other outdoor and indoor spaces around the Columbus area. I enjoy taking dogs to pet stores, farm supply stores, and dog friendly restaurants to continue their socialization and keep them so mentally stimulated, they are able to enjoy themselves fully though they are missing you! If you have a series of training commands your dog knows, or is learning, I’m happy to play games that will continue to reinforce their knowledge in time increments befitting of their age! If there are any commands you’d like your dog to start learning, I’m happy to start the process! If your dog dreams of more active days but is a little less agile, I’m happy to scale the activity back to whatever works for any of their physical needs. Gentle activity, massage, and relaxation are just fine as well. I’m more than comfortable administering any oral/rectal/IM medications upon instruction from you and approval from a veterinarian.
