Animal Scientist For Hire

Pet care experience

*Meet and Greets Required for Service* Being in the pet and house sitting business and animal care business for many years, I have a lot of experience with many different types of animals whether it be by species or needs. I provide specialized care that matches what is best for you and your animal. I treat every pet as if they are my own in order to allow them to receive the best care imaginable. My Education: I have not only studied animal care and science extensively for many years but I have also worked in the business since I was young. Though I do not specialize in nutrition, I have been trained and mentored by one of the leading animal nutritionists in SLO county, Dr. Mark Edwards. I was also trained in dog training and behavior by one of the leading dog training organizations in the country - Guide Dogs for the Blind. I have been trained extensively in animal veterinary skills by Dr. Riggs and her team at the animal rehabilitation center in Morro Bay, Pacific Wildlife Care. Outside my formal education, I keep up-to-date on research studies on varying special animal behavior, nutrition, and information including both domestic and wildlife species. Here is a comprehensive list of the animals I have worked with and feel comfortable working with: Domestic: Feline, Canine, Rabbits, Hamsters, Rats, Guinea Pigs, Parrots, Reptiles (Tortoise, Turtles specifically), Swine, Equine, Sheep, Goat Wild: Rats, Mice, Raccoons, Native Raptors, Ravens, Weasels, Crows, Native Passerines, Native Seabirds, Opossums, Cottontails, Bush Rabbit, Jack Rabbits I am currently looking for work as I just moved here recently after having a successful pet sitting business in CA before the pandemic. I. Available for walks and drop in visits currently for those looking for regular visits and walks. I always care for animals as if they were my own. I understand that every pet has different and specific needs and it is very important to both owner and pet for those needs to be met. I have no problem adapting to specific needs. I am also a pet mom and so I understand!

So happy I found Morgan to walk my dog! I was very nervous about entrusting her to someone else but they seem to be having a great time together and Morgan is even helping her to become less reactive to squirrels 🐿 !

Morgan is THE best! She is very knowledgeable, attentive and thorough. During our first meeting, she took the time to understand every part of our pets' routines and was wonderful interacting with them in front of us. While we were away, Morgan was very punctual on a daily basis, provided great updates with pictures and was able to bond with our very scared cat which is usually unheard of with strangers / Rover sitters. We highly recommend Morgan - our cat definitely gives her two paws up!

We have used Morgan twice now to spend time with our 2 big dogs and mini dachshund. She is wonderful! It’s so relieving to know we can leave our dogs in her good hands and that they will be taken care of. Our dogs are so happy and content while we are gone! :)

Information Morgan B. would like to know about your pet

There are many things I ask in order to allow the best service possible. Any fears of the dog or the owner? Dietary preferences? What are their favorite treats? Do they respond well to verbal or physical praise? What's their favorite toy? Any behavioral traits that I should watch for? Any preexisting or past injuries or trauma I should be aware of?

A typical day

Walks: I try to mix up walks as much as possible while owners are away on vacation. This can help the dog to become slightly more tired due to more mental stimulation with varying walks. For continuous walking clients, I will initially try out several walks around the neighborhood. This allows me to find the best route that works for the dog, me, and also provides us with the most safety walking around. I take into account entrances and exits to parking lots (this can lead to an accident as people leaving especially don't tend to look both ways), sidewalks, variation in plant type (for exploration!), and many other criteria before I make a certain walk a "regular" walk. Rover does moderately well with tracking the walks using google, but I will gladly draw the walk if it messes up and shows I left your pet in a bush down the street 3 blocks down. During walks I try to also work on commands such as "wait" to make both of our walking experiences enjoyable. This option is great for those who are busy with work or simply cannot keep up with the energy needs of their furry friend and need some help wearing them down a bit in the day. Requirement: Dogs over 20lbs MUST have a non-retractable leash. I have some in my car ready if you do not wish to buy a new leash. This allows me to have better control over the dog to prevent any accidents from happening. House Sitting: No Longer Provide. Due to fluctuating state mandates and a 100% cancellation rate since March, I have had to no longer provode this service. Drop in Visits: I mostly provide 2 visits daily but if my schedule permits and you are in close proximity I am willing to do 3 visits a day. These visits are 30min or 60min and this allows some cuddle time, play time, clean up, and feeding without the commitment of having me live/stay in your home while you are gone. I can provide a short walk under 30 minutes however any walk exceeding this will require a "walk" booking also. This option is great for cats and for dogs that have access to the outdoors through the day but need clean up, human interaction, and feedings through the day.
