I have always grown up dogs in the house - usually two dogs at a time. I have owned small dogs (pugs and boston terriers) as well as large dogs (boxers and labs). As I got older I gained more responsibility for caring for my dogs. I was responsible for walking them daily and feeding them morning and night. I also helped potty train two of my dogs and teach them basic manners such as sit, stay, come and fetch. I also have experience with elderly dogs. My last boxer had arthritis in her spine and hips, I would carry her up and down stairs, and would still take her on slow, short walks. She also got seizures and I would care for her during and after making sure to calm her, give her water, and ensure her health and safety.
