Pet care experience
Since a very young age I have had a love for animals, which lead me to gain a degree in Zoology. Throughout college I supported myself by having a small business that I called ‘Pet Friendly Help”. It was basically like Rover, just without the app. I gained experience with young puppies, dogs, cats, aggressive dogs, birds, fish, snakes and lizards. I have given cats shots of insulin and dogs eye drops. I strive to provide outstanding work and care for your animal. I try and be as communicative as possible when caring for your animals. But most importantly, I try and love them the way you do. I’ll even say “bless you” after they sneeze.

Monique has been our preferred Dog caregiver for the past 5 years. We have a high needs cattle dog named Doug, and Monique is aware and sensitive to all of his needs. She is extremely knowledgeable about animals in general and has a special way with dogs. Doug loves Monique and we never have to worry when he is in her hands. If she has the availability to care for your pet, consider yourself lucky!
Monique is the best! She loves my cats and always takes care of them like they’re her own. Monique is very responsible and respectful. Highly recommend!
Monique has outstanding care and consideration for animals. She took care of my two labs and 4 cats weekly while she was going to college in Arcata, California. THEY LOVED HER. One of my cats had diabetes and so she had to give him injections daily when she came over to walk the dogs. She was so gentle and got it done quick. She would walk my two labs with her dog buddy 3 times a week. Definitely a good option!
Please if you care about your dog read this. I booked Monique and was assured we were on the same page when we met. Short and sweet, the first day she left my dog in the complete dark from 1:30-7:45 when I specified the first day he would need someone there because he would be anxious. She agreed. I have Furbo and was checking in hourly to see if she had arrived, and to my surprise she only arrived once I sent a text expressing my concern. Not only did she have an attitude with me about her not abiding by the agreement we had (which all the expectations were written on wipe board in extensive detail) and leaving my dog alone besides a walk every 7 hours. In addition, once I was in another state she told me she would be leaving my dog at home from 2-10 on thanksgiving and suggested I get someone else to take care of him in those hours. At that time, I realized her care was genuinely unsafe. When I finally got ahold of her, she told me that she no longer wanted to care for him (which was fine) but her reasoning was that my apartment was too far (the apartment that she met me at before watching him, with the same address that is clearly posted on the app) and that my expectations were too high. Also a direct quote from Monique is, "I think we had a different understanding of what a couple hours meant" ???? A couple is two. To top matters off, she placed a frozen block of food in his bowl as opposed to heating it up or even breaking it up to be edible and when my friend arrived to pick him up after she left him, he was hiding in the bathtub shaking which he has never done before . I can provide screen shots of both the agreement we settled on, the wipe board detailing anything and she could possibly be confused on. I am an avid rover user and have only been pleasantly surprised but this experience has left me disappointed and scared to try again. Oh and lastly, her only concern on our phone call was not Freddie or the situation, yet it was if I was going to write a review or not as she asked me twice. I was not going to, but I have a duty to all other dog parents to say something and tell you this is not a good choice in person to watch your animal.

Availability
This is unfortunately not my only job but I do make my own schedule. I will be able to help and provide what your animal needs. I will not be able to take them everywhere with me. I will make sure they are walked fed and taken care of but I will not be able to spend more than 2 hours for a drop in visit.
