Dogs know dog people & they LOVE me

Pet care experience

I have owned dogs my whole life and I've been wanting to get another one but I'm still heartbroken about my last dog which was an Akita. He was my best friend and he was so loved by everyone and I just don't think I could ever replace him. I think dogs are just better than most people. They are so simple and yet give so much love. I miss the long walks and snuggles on my couch and the wagging tail when I walk in the door. My boys miss him too and want me to get another dog and I know they would love to help me watch other dogs and help people at the same time. We want to make it a fun vacation for your pet and we can assure you he will be happy and healthy and possibly worn out but a great experience for all. We understand about separation anxiety, exciting car rides and the anticipation of a long walk or a trip to dog beach! We know that belly and ear rubs (on the inside) make most shake with delight. A good hair brush and telling them how handsome and pretty they are really does help. My boys and I are excited to have you share your family member with us.

Monika was great and very responsive. She had experience with large dogs so gave me piece of mind. I totally recommend Monika and will use her again.

STAY AWAY! MONIKA IS TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE AND NO ONE THAT CARES FOR THEIR DOG’S SAFETY SHOULD BOOK WITH HER. We booked overnight boarding at Monika’s house while we were away for a week long trip. We did a meet and greet beforehand, where Monika assured us that our pup would be well taken care off and that she would be the only dog staying with her that week. Two days into our trip we received a call from one of Monika’s neighbors who had FOUND OUR DOG ROAMING FREE IN THEIR FRONT YARD. We immediately called Monika to try to find out what had happened. When Monika finally answered her phone after several attempts, we asked her what happened and Monika sounded disoriented and was unable to give us a good answer as to why our dog was found in someone else's front yard. We were shocked when Monika said that our dog “never goes far,” seeming to suggest that she thought it was no big deal that our dog was roaming around the street off leash. When we pushed for an explanation, Monika was very combative, told us that she did not like our energy, and hung up the phone. We genuinely feared for our dog’s safety and had to have a relative go and immediately pull our dog out from Monika’s house and take her to a boarding facility, at significant inconvenience, stress, and cost to us. When we called Monika to tell her that someone was coming to pick our dog up, she said that our dog was fine and was “playing with the other dogs.” Monika had assured us during our meet and greet that there would be no other dogs present, so there should not have been any other dogs there. However, this was a smaller issue than her losing our dog. We consider ourselves lucky that Monika’s neighbor found our dog and did the responsible thing and contacted us immediately. Otherwise, who knows what might have happened to our dog.

Do not book with Monika. Ms. Gatts Lowe is not reliable, not responsible, and I'm afraid she would pose a danger to your pets. We had booked her for two days of doggie day care while we were in town as guest speakers at an event near her home. We were in touch with her the day before the event confirming drop off between 9-10am. We texted her our ETA when we were on our way and we got to her place around 9:40. We rang her Ring doorbell, her manual doorbell, knocked loudly, texted her, and phoned her all multiple times and got no response. We had Rover try to get a hold of her, no response. We were left with no choice but to leave and head to the event where we were scheduled to speak that morning, all the way there scrambling to try to find another sitter for our pups, which was not possible at that point. They couldn't let us enter the event with our dogs and with 10 minutes before our first talk, my fiance had to stay back with the pups and I had to give the talk on my own after the fiasco with Monika. In order to attend to the pups through the afternoon and the following day, we then had to cancel our plans to stay at the event to promote our work and catch up with our friends and partners in the industry, only returning when we could for scheduled appearances. Who knows how much business and connections this cost us. But, to top it all it off, around 2pm, hours after the scheduled drop off, we got a message from Monika explaining that she was home and "must have fallen asleep." She said "I wish I would have told you to put them in the side gate." This is frankly incredibly disturbing that she thinks it would be okay to just leave our dogs unattended in a stranger's yard, as if they're just some delivery from Amazon that you'll get to whenever you wake up. We don't leave our dogs unattended in our own yard, it's even against the terms of our adoption agreement to do so. That Monika can so cavalierly think that would have been a good solution so she could sleep in, I can only imagine it's just a matter of time before a pet escapes or is harmed under her care.

I want to start of saying. if not for Monika, Riley's last few months with us would have not been the same. Monika became his second mother and staying with her was a blessing for him. It was also a life saver for me, as I work during the day and Riley really needed a second place to call home. Monika was professional, flexible, accommodating; everything a dog owner could ask for. Riley spent a good 3 months with her on my work days as well as over a few long weekends. She allowed me to drop him off if she happened to be out and was always a great communicator. I know Riley was grateful and I'm sure he is looking down on her with a paw up, a wagging tale and a huge smile of thanks and gratitude. Thanks you Monika! Don't hesitate to let Monika take care of your pup if you are looking for a great place. I could not recommend more highly.

Information Monika G. would like to know about your pet

I LOVE BIG DOGS! All of them!! If you could please let me know the following: Do they have a favorite toy? What is their favorite thing to do? What is their daily routine like? Do they get along with other dogs? Like at restaurants or the beach? Do they have separation anxiety? Do they ever have accidents or issues with chewing on things? What is their sleeping schedule? Are they allowed to have healthy table scraps? Any allergies or special needs?

A typical day

We live in a great community with lots of dogs so we'll go on plenty of walks. We may even take the convertible to dog beach if your dog likes car rides. I've been told I have a pretty good arm, so if playing fetch is their thing, I'm good at throwing a ball! We will always have time in the evening to be lazy and snuggle and get and give good kisses and scratches. At bedtime, we"ll go to my room and if they'd like, I have plenty of room in my king size bed. I don't mind sharing.
