My dog stayed with Monica in June of 2021. I became concerned right away when I went to drop off my dog. Monica seemed shocked by his size and asked what his breed was (all information that is available on his profile). Monica then asked if my dog gets along with other dogs, something I found odd considering she seemed to be hosting an awful lot of dogs in her backyard (this was not clearly stated before booking my dog's stay). Thankfully, my dog loves other dogs but it is a very concerning situation for anyone who may have a dog that is more selective. While I was gone, I received very little information about how his stay was going and had to wait 20 minutes for Monica to arrive at her house when I went to pick my dog up. My dog was returned with his left over food but none of the other items I had packed (long lasting chews, toys, etc.). In addition to all of this, my dog smelt awful. He plays in water a lot so I am used to some funk but this smell was the worst smell I have ever experienced. I had to give him two baths when he returned home, followed by 2 baths by his groomer to finally get rid of the smell. I booked through rover hoping for a comfortable alternative to boarding facilities but was left extremely disappointed.
