Lower-priced and highest-quality!

Pet care experience

First and foremost it takes trust to let someone care for your pet. Dogs are self-sustaining in so many ways, but having the loving connection to a human is of utmost importance. After taking care of so many dogs in my lifetime, you can trust me with yours. I keep my sitting and walking prices low honestly because the tasks are easy for me to do! Having a pet can be expensive in so many ways, having a high quality walker and sitter doesn’t have to be. I appreciate your trust! A little about myself: Although I believe my true full-time job is my love for all things dog-related, I spend the majority of my day in school. I am in a Master’s degree program to serve children in the child welfare system. While caring for dogs isn’t 100% of what I do during the week, it is certainly all I think about! My own dog, Moose, is a rescued pointy-eared shusky (shepherd+husky) mix; Moose has completed multiple rounds of canine training from the humane society and loves all things agility. He is well socialized and loves playing with other dogs. A little about my home: I live in a large condominium with a backyard deck, enclosed by a six-foot fence and locked gate. We have an XL-sized doggie door insert in our sliding glass door, allowing access to the outside at all times. Pets are always allowed on the couches (we have blankets and clean them often and vacuum out the couches thoroughly). Eating time: We give our dog access to his food and water throughout the day, but if your dog has a special eating routine, please let me know. I do ask that you bring your dog’s regular food and possibly their favorite toys when staying with us (different food can disagree with their system and I don't want to make anyone sick!). Transportation: I have an SUV with an awesome dog bed in the back and seat covers for the 2nd row. If you simply need your dog transported to daycare, the veterinarian, another home, etc., I'm happy to help! Lastly, I love answering questions about what caring for your pet(s) would look like, so please don't hesitate to ask.

So, so happy with the care Monica provided, very last-minute I might add. We've never needed a dog-sitter before, because of that (to my thinking) I was high-maintenance. We both had separation anxiety, my dog can be super-needy and has a lot of stamina about it. Monica didn't seem to look at it that way at all. She seemed to turn a potential unpleasant situation into an opportunity for my dog to bond with someone new. When we arrived and Monica came walking out I liked her instantly--her feet are firmly planted on the earth. From minute one, without possibly even realizing it, she was interacting with my dog in such a way as to set up a healthy relationship. I won't go into the psychology of it, but she did and it worked. I almost didn't go on my first trip in many years because I was so hesitant to leave my dog. I trusted my instincts and the other reviewer before me. Monica showed confidence yet kindness and told me I could go and enjoy myself. So I did. I came back and my dog is noticeably better for it. There were some anxieties she was having and it's as if the stay with Monica built her confidence. I can't recommend her enough.

We felt very blessed to have Monica care for our 4 precious pups! We don't have many visitors so our dogs aren't used to strangers. Luckily, they could all sense Monica was a dog person and they warmed up to her soon after we left them in her care. Monica was very thoughtful; she snapped photos of them and texted them to us while we were out having dinner so we wouldn't worry about them. We will definitely ask her to sit for us again!

Monica was great, she came over and met us and our pack beforehand. She came and did a couple of weekend drop-in visits, she lets know how our pups were doing and was very nice. We won't hesitate to book her again! Thank you Monica!

Monica is the best with pets. She has checked on our two dogs for years while we're gone on vacation for weeks at a time. She sends pictures of them while we're away and adheres to their special medication schedule. She stayed overnight with them, took them on walks, and checked during the day when she got off work. Our dogs don't get along with other pets or people, so finding someone who understands their needs was paramount. I would recommend Monica to watch your dog during the day or night - she cares so much!

Information Monica B. would like to know about your pet

Is your furry friend very vocal? We would want to know about any barking. When (if at all) does your dog go into a crate? Special medications? How are they administered? Where are you in the scheme of training your dog? Special requirements for treats (allergies, grain-free, rice-free, veggies only, raw food)? Does your pooch display any sort of toy guarding or aggression while eating (we can separate during feeding time)?

A typical day

Fun places for dogs: Doran Beach, Sonoma square/lawn, Sugarloaf Ridge, Foothill Regional, downtown Windsor, Coffey Park, Spring Lake/Howarth Park, Rincon Valley Community Park Our own home has a few very large grassy areas to play fetch and run around the field together. We also have a 50' leash if you prefer playtime to be on-leash only.
