Pet care experience
I completed my master’s in biology in August 2022, and now work at the Tuscaloosa Public Library doing outreach. My partner and I have 4 cats, a corn snake, and a leopard gecko, and I have grown up around dogs my whole life. I have taken care of professor’s and friend’s pets and have gotten new “clients” by word of mouth and really enjoy it! If you need a weekend away, I can stay overnight with your pet or swing by to check on them, whichever you prefer. I have been on Rover since I started grad school, and now have semi-professionally built clientele through this app. I also follow safe COVID procedures, such as frequent hand washing, surface sanitation, and I wear my mask when in proximity to immunocompromised people, or those who prefer me to.

M’Kayla was absolutely wonderful! She came for a quick meet and greet before our trip, where she asked really thoughtful questions. While I was away, she took incredible care of my 2 pups - one younger, and one more senior. She was responsive, very active with them, and I could tell from videos how much my dogs loved her. I highly recommend!

M’Kayla is an absolute GEM! She is so sweet and loving towards our boy and he latched on to her the minute he met her which is wild for a cat. They played and cuddled and hung out all night and day. She moved a ridiculous amount of packages in our house and kept everything safe and perfect. She sent tons of videos and pics. HIGHLY recommend her!

I know that the majority of pets are most comfortable following their usual routine, so I prefer staying overnight with the pet when the owner is comfortable with me doing so. I am available to check on your pet(s) every 4-6 hours.

I would love to hear about the pet’s experience on a leash. Additionally, have they been socialized with other dogs? Do they get nervous/anxious around loud noises or certain types of people? (My parent’s dogs are not huge fans of most men). Do they like to be brushed? If children are in the vicinity, how will your pet react?
A typical day
I love to go to the Riverwalk, Hurricane Creek, around the UA campus, or the Will May dog park (if it is not busy). I love to run around in the backyard with your dog or play with lasers or other toys with your kitty!

Availability
I am currently working part-time on Rover, but I have plenty of time to take care of your pets and communicate often about their well-being and care! I am available week days and weekends. My regular work schedule is flexible and I am happy to do my best to meet your needs!
