I am a second-generation animal lover who grew up with pets of all kinds. Having pets to care for and a home where strays were often gathered had a big part in shaping my life. I lived a whole two years in college without a pet to call my own and it was excruciating! We are actually a family of six who loves animals. My kids are ages 4-10 and are very good with dogs. We are fairly new to Rover but not to dog sitting. We love taking time to get to know new pets and give them the TLC they need when they are away from home. We have an elderly dog and our kids know when to leave the older ones alone (no holding allowed!) but are also oh so happy to play and romp with dogs who need more excercise and/or cuddles. Our dogs are a sweet old girl who has helped raise four babies. She gets along well with other dogs and is very gentle and good natured. We recently said goodbye to her sweet sister and adopted our second dog, Kate. She is a rescued dog and just about the best dog I have ever met. She loves other dogs and people in general. You will often see her leap with joy when she gets to meet them. We have a clean home, don't ever feed pets table food, and are home almost all of the time. We take frequent walks and dogs have ample time to play outdoors. We are a foster family with a local dog rescue and provide pet sitting when we are free to do so.
