*Transport available with negotiable rates, so please let me know if you need it.* Hello there! I have had the blessing of owning (and being owned by) dogs and cats all of my 48 years of life. In the past, I have worked extensively with local shelters and private rescue groups to help with dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, indoor birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, mice, hamsters, rats, gerbils- you name it! I love them all. Also, I owned and operated a small hobby farm, on which I kept many of those animals of my own. I have an especially extensive background keeping chickens, as well as formerly being a professional horse groomer for a world-champion dressage rider, and taught horseback riding for Western and Hunter Jumpers. To say that I love dogs is a gross understatement. This is especially so with senior dogs, which I have extensive experience with. My Miniature Schnauzer, Emma is the most quiet and laid back schnauzer you'll ever meet, and gets along great with every animal she meets. We also have Lucas, a small shi-poo who doesn't know he's small and who simply loves EVERYONE. He loves to play, and shares our two overflowing bins of toys very well! The newest member of our pack is Murphy, a medium-large Aussiedoodle. Murphy was our attempt at fostering, which made us foster-failures! He is equal parts cuddle bug and playing machine, is SO gentle and submissive when he plays, and so far, has gotten along great with every dog he meets.
Reviews
Misty is awesome, she did drop in visits for our animals (dogs, bunnies, chickens, and pigs) and she took very good care making sure to keep us informed our whole trip with pictures and updates, We appreciate you Misty!
Misty was amazing with my 3 high energy babies. She stayed in contact and sent many pictures to make me feel comfortable. First time away from my babes and she made me feel at ease and not stress. Definitely spoiled my 3. Will be using her again when I travel.
Misty is such an amazing person and wonderful with my special guy and his vision problems. I received so many pictures and video of him having so much fun and getting spoiled! This was the first time I’ve ever left him with someone other then family and she worked with me and my guy so well! 100% using her again!
The best!!

I have a fenced yard and take your fur baby's safety very seriously. Additionally, there is a doggy door leading out to the yard. There are no hazardous plants in the home for curious chewers to get sick from. But there are lots of safe chew toys! I usually only take one dog at a time for overnight stays (or two if they are from the same household). But with both owners' permissions, if the dogs have met before and get along well (for example, if they are in daycare together), then it may be possible for me to host more for overnight boarding. Ask ahead of your stay if this is needed.

Information Misty G. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know if your fur baby has any special needs, any fears, and what their favorite/allowed snacks are. If they are staying overnight, I'd like to know where they normally sleep at home. I love having dogs sleep in the big bed with me, but if they are more comfortable to sleeping elsewhere, just let me know. Also, I try to keep their schedules as close as possible what they have at home, so meal times, potty break times, wake and sleep times are helpful. One last, very important thing I need to know is if they are escape artists! While I am always super careful, and dogs are never left in the yard unattended, if your pooch likes to jump fences or knows how to open doors, make sure to let me know. It is not a deal breaker, it will just make me hyper-aware!
A typical day
We are out in the country, so barkers are not a problem. The a fenced-in yard is pooper-scooped multiple times a week, there are two water bowls that I keep clean fresh water in for when the outside play makes them thirsty, and have several outside toys for stimulating play. Inside, dogs are welcome on the couches, chairs, and our bed, but there are also several comfy dog beds of all sizes throughout the home. The best part is the huge baskets of toys of all kinds for playing inside! Emma, Lucas, and Murphy are happy to share, and I am always up for games of tug or fetch. Of course, cuddlers and couch potatoes are also very welcome!

I am a full-time graduate school student, both online and in person classes, and a dedicated homebody. I leave the homestead as little as possible, and for as little time as possible. Therefore, your fur-kids will get lots of affection, playtime, and snuggle time. Whenever possible, if you are choosing me for boarding your dog in my home or for doggy daycare, I prefer to meet them first, to make sure that we will all be comfortable. These Meet & Greets are very important so we can all get to know eachother. Though it is not an option listed on Rover, I do offer discounted rates for Boarding if for extended periods, both a weekly and a monthly rate. Additionally, I now offer discounted rates for service dogs in daycare and boarding. Just ask me about it and we can talk rates. Although not a military veteran myself, I come from a long line of them. I have so much love and respect for our military service members, and know that leaving your dog for a deployment is one of the hardest things to do. So, if you, or someone close to you is a military member who finds themselves needing long-term care for your furry friends, I am now also offering a special, extremely low rate for extended boarding because of a deployment (complete with lots of pics and videos sent to you while you are away). Please contact me for further details. I am typically home the majority of the time, except for class, the gym, and grocery trips. My own fur-kids are never left for longer than a couple of hours, and boarders get the same treatment of course! While boarding with me, I prefer to have your dog's kennel as well, only so they can be safely crated for my short trips out of the house. But other than those times, they'll have free roam of the house and yard.
