Dogtopia!
Pet care experience
My home is structured to be a total home away from home for canines. Orthopedic dog beds cover the living room floor which opens up to a large covered patio and a lush back yard with artificial grass along with grapefruit and orange trees. I get to know my dogs personalities intimately and try to make them as happy and comfortable as possible. I have a 3 year old German Shepherd who is the big cheese and an active player along with an sweet active pointer mix who is approximately 10 (she is a rescue) along with a Cattle dog mix who is defying age estimates and is at least 17 years old! Her owner passed away and we took her in and she is determined to stay out! They are very social and accepting. We have loads of toys that get scattered inside and out. When we go to the park I make sure all the dogs are engaged, if they chase a ball or need encouragement to walk laps for exercise or just like being social. Many of my clients are dog park regulars so dogs get to interact with the same dogs here and at the park. Routine is a dog’s best friend. We lean towards the medium sized dogs but have had no problems with small pups feeling comfortable. Please come and meet us if we sound like a good fit!

Thank you so much Miriam, Rocky had so much fun and we were pleased with your professional care with him. We will have you in our top list of care for Rocky, thanks Again!
Our dog had an amazing time when he was staying with Miriam during our vacation. She kept us up to date daily on his activities and put my worries at ease (new dog owner here). She truly loves dogs and does everything to create a great experience for them. Will definitely be using her again in the future. Thank you Miriam! ??
Miriam was wonderful as ever. She’s so good with Rosie and sends us such great updates throughout her stay. Thanks Miriam!
Miriam was great. We were visiting family in LA and needed doggy daycare for our dog Kona and found Miriam on Rover. Kona seemed very happy at her house and got along with all the other dogs. Miriam seems to have the natural ability to maintain full control of her pack. All the dogs in her care seemed very well behaved and happy. A true dog whisperer. Already booked Kona’s next stay later this year.

I have gates to separate areas. One at the side door so no dogs can slip out when others are arriving. Another adjusts to separating the dogs while feeding, keeping the pups out when I’m mopping or just allowing them to run in on one side with muddy paws if it’s raining or we fill the kiddy pools in the summer. I always use a leash on client dogs outside of the house. Hopefully you are working on pulling. 😁 I will use martingale collars if the one they are wearing can slip over their heads. This is a home and the dogs are like my own kids and their friends. I never leave a new dog alone but if they are repeats and all the dogs are predictable I will take time to do errands or go swim. If not I will bring someone in to watch over them during that time.

Sorry, no male pit bulls. Dogs must be non-aggressive, non alphas that will not challenge others outside of natural dog play. Cannot be toy aggressive. No intact dogs. House trained. Will train to use a doggie door if needed but will still have plenty of opportunities to get outside if resistant.
A typical day
* AC for those hot days * Small wading pool also for the very hot days. * Insured for incidents that happen on my watch with a $250 deductible. (That are not hereditary or previous chronic issues) * Owners are welcome to join us on the patio in the afternoon to experience and enjoy their dogs and surroundings.
