Dog and cat lover

Pet care experience

My name is Miranda and I am a current MPH student located here in Tallahassee. I have grown up with at least one dog in the household for my entire life and now have one of my own who I love and adore, Spooky. I am experienced with dogs of all ages, from puppies to the elderly who need some more attention. I am experienced in pets who need more care, such as medication dosing, as my dog gets medication orally twice daily. I have also volunteered for the ASPCA's adoption sites and gained quite a bit of experience from my time there. I have a very flexible schedule as far cancellation just keep me in the loop. I am an avid jogger so if you would like your dog to get some exercise I'm happy to take them if we plan accordingly. I love dogs and I will care for your fuzzy buddy like they were my own. I am also a newly turned cat lover! I've done cat watching in the past but having one of my own has greatly changed how I interact with felines. I'm happy to say I am a cat person now in addition to being a dog person!

Miranda was really wonderful with our dog Coco. Miranda clearly loves animals and was so sweet to Coco. She sent us several pictures while we were out of town and took Coco for lots of walks. We will definitely be using Miranda again in the future.

Miranda did a great job with my Lexi. She paid a lot of attention to her and played with her on the short visits.

Safety, trust & environment

SAFETY: I always try to ensure there is a two-pronged approach to preventing any escapes; one being the door itself and the second being something in front of the door like a baby gate. Dogs will be leashed inside fully before any door is opened to go out with the exception being completely fenced-in yards that are considered safe by the owner. Meals, bones, and other chew toys are monitored to best prevent any choking hazards or events (if choking ever happens for any reason, I do know dog and cat CPR!). Pavement is ALWAYS tested with my palm before any walks to confirm that the pavement is within the safe temperature range for your dog's paws. TRUST: I am an over-sender! I send very regular updates with pictures of your pet through the Rover app but don't worry, you can set how many check-ins you'd like with me before the visit/stay as I know some rather be just kept in the need to know. Before any visit/stay, I prefer to do an initial meeting with your pet (and you if possible!) so we can establish routines, likes and dislikes, expected behavior and any behavior issues, and the details of how you'd like the visit/stay to go. ENVIRONMENT: For house sitting, I prefer to have a midday drop-in and an overnight stay that lasts until the morning routine is complete so that I'm able to go to my home to care for my own pets. However, if you'd like me to stay in your home full-time, we can make the arrangements to ensure your pet is getting the full-time care they need.

Information Miranda A. would like to know about your pet

If the dog has any behavioral problems (leash aggression, high-prey drive, dog-dog aggression, etc.), special conditions, or preferences as far as care. Knowing if your dog is aggressive toward other animals is very important in order to protect all animals involved and to best serve you and your pup!

A typical day

We will walk around parks, around the neighborhood, dog friendly beaches, and even trips to the dog park (for repeat clients with dogs I am familiar with). I'm very open to fun adventures with your pup depending on location and client request!
