OUR FOCUS IS OLDER DOGS
Pet care experience
We normally can only take 1-2 dogs at a time so we do book fast for busy weeks. We will walk your dog twice daily and they will have access to back yard 8AM-8PM WE WILL: Consider most adult dogs that are house trained. WE DO NOT ACCEPT: Pit Bulls, German Shepherd's, Rottweiler's or puppies under 2 at his time. Special needs dogs and Toy breeds (<10#) have 15.00 per night surcharge in addition to the base rate. Special needs is defined as incontinent issues, feeding/diet issues, behavior issues and needing constant attention. Special needs dogs restrict our ability to take a second dog and increased time and or resources so the rate reflects this. We have had dogs for thirty years and until recently had a very senior lab and became skilled at catering to the needs of a frail and medically challenged dogs. We will walk your dog daily each morning and evening. Our backyard and courtyard are fully secure. We are retired and love animals. We are skilled at administering medications and preparing meals for dogs either their prescribed diet or for those who eat human food (chopped chicken or ground beef toppers) for owners who prefer this.

We just picked up our 14 year old doggie after a 2 week stay at Mike and John's. We could not be happier. In returning to the Palm Springs area after 25 years from the Bay Area (where we had a plethora of house/dog sitters), we had never had her stay at another place. We were a little concerned about how she would adjust in being away from her home setting, especially since she is older. . Over the 2 weeks when we were in Europe, they kept us up to date with pictures and texts about how she was doing and how happy she was in adjusting to having a couple of other doggies to be with. She loves other dogs. She usually got a couple of walks each day which she loves. Mike and John were so accommodating and we really appreciated their attention to her. It gave us such piece of mind as we went off for a long delayed vacation. They have plenty of space, including a large backyard. We would highly recommend them as they really do care about your pet!
Mike and John did a great job of looking after my middle-aged dog, Niko, with steady updates and pictures of them going on walks! They offer a great space for your pets to hang out when needing a place to stay.
We are so happy we found Mike and John to watch our 14 year old dog. They gave us updates and pictures throughout our trip which was great. They not only helped us out with our last minute request but were so kind and flexible when my return trip flight got messed up. Having people who know how to work with older dogs is amazing. They dealt with his anxiety, medications and food schedule. It was SO wonderful to know that our dog was safe and in great hands. We definitely recommend!!
Mike and John were terrific…our dog is 15 and is deaf and has arthritis. They took him out twice a day for a walk and took great care of him. Rec’d pics throughout the stay and he was happy and content when I picked him up. Highly recommend these gentlemen if you have a senior pet…they handle meds and older pets needs seamlessly! Thx guys…much appreciated!

We have a fenced yard with multiple doggie beds and lots of room inside and a grassy area in back yard with a doggie door and access unless restrictions are needed. Mike is a retired social worker and professor and John a retired handy man both of us had always had dogs since childhood.

A typical day
We play and show affection throughout the day and walk the dogs every morning and evening. Sometimes a good game of catch is popular. snack times, and of coarse naps!

Availability
We walk dogs in the morning feed them, provide treats at noon and dinner at 4-5 PM. They are carefully watched and cared for. At bedtime we try to get them situated in a pet bed or see if they want to sleep on a bed if they like that better.
