We rescued a pit bull mix, Reyka, 3 years ago. I've watched her transform from a scared, probably abused, shy dog into the sweetest best friend. She and I are like Red and Rover now even though she still stays won't let strangers touch her. I have the patience to work with all dogs. I’m recently retired from a defense industry computer job, I'm looking to fill my days being active and outdoors. I'm a volunteer at the Howard County Animal Control and Rescue Center in Columbia where I exercise and socialize dogs and cats, and help new pet owners choose their forever pet. I take my dog Reyka to state and county parks and we hike the trails. I grew up in Wisconsin; I don't mind it when it's cold out. Your dog will get a vigorous walk on trails and sidewalks of about 1.5 miles and 30 minutes. The walk is tracked in Strads and a screen capture of the route is texted at the end of the walk. I can also feed dogs and cats, scoop litter, give Insulin shots and other meds, pick up mail, etc.
