Pet care experience
I have been an animal lover since childhood and have had the pleasure of caring for many types of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, reptiles, and rodents. I was formerly employed as a veterinarian assistant for three years and if necessary I am very comfortable administering medications, giving fluids, providing assisted feedings, checking blood sugar, etc. I firmly believe that all animals deserve the best care I am capable of providing and I vow to apply this belief to every animal that I have the pleasure of working with. I have two dogs, a cat, three geckos, a snake, and two rabbits of my own, and have worked closely with exotic pets during my employment at veterinary clinics. These experiences mean that I am very comfortable and qualified to perform drop-in visits for a variety of unique animal species. During their stay your fur baby will be provided with a sanitary environment where they will receive frequent potty breaks, massages, playtime, lots of cuddles, and be treated like one of the family. Dogs will be leash walked around the my lush and partially forested 2.5 acre property as well as the nearby neighborhood and let outside to play and potty in the fenced front yard. I am more than happy to comply with any special requests regarding your pets needs. I do have some caged animals in the house as well as one cat who gets along with dogs and is up to date on all vaccines. The caged animals will be kept separate from your pet during their stay. I also have two dogs who are both up to date on all vaccines and get along with most cats and dogs wonderfully. Before your pets visit I will always perform a thorough assessment of my home in order to ensure that nothing toxic or tempting to chew on is left in a place that is within reach of your furry friend. I will also clean the floors of the house between each pet's visit to ensure that you pet stays comfortable and healthy. If its your pets first time at daycare or boarding then I will send you home with a report card that will go into detail about your pets experience such as their appetite and any anxiety they may have displayed. I do require that all owners provide vaccine records upon arrival to ensure the safety of all pets.

My dog is a lot of work. She's a very sweet, very strong, very large Pit mix who loves people more than anything - but she doesn't get along with most dogs. She's even gotten into a fight before! She's very much driven by routine. She can be an escape artist. She pulls on her lead when excited. She's way too smart for her own good. So, it was important to me to find an experienced dog walker who can handle and love on her when I can't. Mikayla has done a great job and I will be booking her more!
Mikayla is super sweet! You can tell she loves animals. Our dog, Teddy, loved his stay with her. We will definitely use her again.

I have 2.5 acres of partially forested property where I can leash-walk your dog and let them experience the joy of being in nature. I also have a fenced in front yard where they can run and play off-leash while still keeping cool and comfortable in the shade provided by large oak and maple trees. At my home, your dog will truly have the opportunity to re-connect with its wild roots and will be surrounded by beautiful trees and plants as well as a variety of wild creatures including birds, squirrels, deer, etc. Your dog will receive lots of playtime, cuddles, walks, outdoor time, and attention. Boarding dogs who are unable to get along with my own pets can still be kept in the finished basement of my home during their stay, which has been converted into a very cute playroom with toys and beds. The basement is very spacious, filled with fun toys, and is heated and cooled to comfortable levels. If your dog gets along with my own dogs and my cat then it will be allowed to roam the entire home and interact with them as well while they are under close supervision. I have both large and small dog sized crates if your pet needs to be crated at night and will be able to accommodate any special needs your dog might have.

A typical day
When your pet stays with me, they will be treated like one of the family. Frequent cuddling, petting, playtime, massages, and exercise will all be a guarantee during your pets visit. I will take your dog out for potty breaks every 2-4 hours in my fenced yard and will also play with them outside several times a day by throwing toys for them to fetch. Your pet will be provided with safe toys during playtime under close supervision and will be more than welcome to play games like fetch and tug-of-war indoors. I will provide mental stimulation for pets staying for long periods of time by hiding owner-approved treats in puzzle toys. If your pet seems hesitant to stay outside for an extended time on cold or rainy days and isn't in the mood for rough-housing, I will entertain your pet by playing a video on the TV that your pet might find interesting, such as squirrels running around or birds flying by.
