Pet care experience
I have grown up with all kinds of pets since I was a kid. Cats, dogs, rabbits, Guinea Pigs, birds, Hermit Crabs, a turtle, and even Chickens. I love all animals. I have always had big dogs, but have loved caring for some of my friend smaller dogs (miniature doxin, miniature Schnauzer, and a Chihuahua). My personal dogs from childhood were a German Shepherd Border Collie Mix, and a Golden Retriever lab, and currently Henry who is a full blood golden retriever. I have always had a cat in my home since I was a baby, and once I was old enough, I helped to take care of them as well. I have had people from church and school who have asked me to care for their animals, and I am always excited for the opportunity.

I could care for the dog in their own home so that their environment is not changed on top of being around a new person without their family at home. I am comfortable crating, taking care of them outside, or even just letting them be around the house and sleeping in bed with me (Henry always sleeps in bed with me, as well as Tigger!). I am personally comfortable with whatever the animal is used to and what the family wants. I am also happy to learn what commands you have your dog follow so that I can keep that the same as well, if they are not trained I am happy to work on sit, lay down, and place with them. The only thing I am not okay with is caring for dogs that have a tendency to aggression. t will also be important for me to know how your pet is around other people or animals to help me to decide how to go about walks, and if the pet has any food aggression, so that I know how to approach feeding them.

It is important for me to know if the dog has a tendency towards aggression, if the dog is a runner/escape artist, how the animal gets along with other people/animals, how the dog does with car rides if we were to go to a park, if the dog has any allergies, if the dog is not controllable during walks and tends to drag the person walking them, how to best catch their attention or entice them when a behavior needs to be stopped, areas the animal does not like to be touched (any sensitive areas such as belly, hind legs, chin, feet, etc.), and if the animal is easily startled and needs a slow approach with warning.
A typical day
I love to let dogs explore while on a walk, and I like to alternate between walking and running to help them get some of their energy out. I love to go down to the fort smith river front walk or to creekmoore park when taking my dog on a walk. I also love to take time to play fetch, tug of war, or even just relax with the animal and give them lots of love.

Availability
I currently work full time at a coffee shop (Fort Smith Coffee Co.) My shifts tend to be 7 hours maximum per day, but are sometimes really early to the point that I am free by 1 pm for the rest of the day, or can switch to where they are 1/3-8/10pm.
