Pet care experience
I am a current veterinary student at the UC Davis School of medicine. I began working with pets at the age of 17, and spent the last few years working at a specialty and emergency hospital. This experience prepared me for administering a wide variety of medication, and handling special needs animals of all types. I'm also trained in puppy and senior pet care! I enjoy hiking, leisurely walks, and just cuddling furry and scaley babies.

Mikayla connected with Dodger the minute she walked in the door, reassuring us immediately that he was in good hands. She was familiar with the medication he might need, went over my (3) pages of instructions, and took the time to walk around our neighborhood with him and meet his friends (the neighbors who give him treats). I live in a home with 2 dogs who are both older and very mellow, there is a fenced backyard and parks near by for daily walks.

As a vet tech for 9+years and a rising 3rd year veterinary student, I have an expansive expirience list. Some things that would be helpful to know before hand include: reactivity or aggression to other people or animals, current medication, surgical history, current illness/diseases.
A typical day
Daily walks with my own dog are a daily occurrence. As my dog ages, hikes and more intensive walks have become less common. However I still have my favorite hiking spots that are dog friendly in and around Davis/Sacramento. The Putah creek preserve is a personal favorite of mine, it's nearby, pet friendly, has well maintained roads, and is well shaded.

Availability
My availability is early morning and afternoons after about 3pm during the week and 24/7 on weekends! As a student my availability is flexible and may change as the school year progresses. If you have any specials requests or questions please feel free to contact me!
