Hi! I'm Mikaela, a self-employed animal lover with a flexible schedule—and a need to get out of my home office more often! I'd love to stay in or visit your home to care for your animals and keep them company or come pick up your dog for a Pacific NW adventure! I grew up in Bellingham, WA, with an incredible German shepherd for a sister, and whether it was loving on other furchildren, dog sitting and playing with family members' and neighbors' animals, finding lost dogs and returning them to their families, or volunteering at the Whatcom Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, I've done my best to surround myself with animals of all kinds throughout my entire life. In 2014, I rescued a German shepherd with socializing issues (and eventually another loving dog and cat), which is why I no longer bring clients' pets into my own home. Someday, I plan to own acreage on which I can homestead and live among many animals. I have a lifetime of experience with dogs of all breeds and sizes, dogs with socializing issues, and senior dogs and cats. I have owned dogs, cats, parrots, fish, hamsters, rats, chickens, and ducks, and have spent time around (and would be happy to care for, with some guidance,) other rodents, ferrets, reptiles, goats, horses, donkeys, cows—and anything else.
