Hi there pet-parents! My name is Mieke and I am a health coach currently doing my Masters's degree in Mental Health and Counseling (online). Two years ago, I moved from Manhattan to beautiful, Stamford, Connecticut. We live in a stunning, well-kept, brand-new, pet-friendly building with a dog spa and amazing parks everywhere to be found. Often as pet-parents, we feel guilty if we have to leave our beloved pets behind when we go on vacation, but you have our word that we will make sure that they are having a wonderful time being at their home away from home. I am here to ease your mind and I am available to care for your pets on all weekends (daycare and overnight stay) as well as on Mondays and Fridays. I have been passionate about animals since a very young age, and my love for animals has grown more and more over the years. I grew up with two cats and over the years ten amazing dogs – all who have contributed in a positive way to the person I am today. All of our pets were always extremely well taken care of and treated like our children and as an important part of our family. I grew up with three English Bulldogs (Dolly Dee, Douglas and Choppie), one Chow Chow named Bobby, one Shar-Pei named Gunther, two Terriers (Olga and Otto), one Chihuahua named Alfie ,and one Miniature Pinscher (Michael) – This is evidence that I have knowledge of various different types of dogs and how to care for them. I am also proud to say that I have worked together with our neighborhood vets to help tame and neuter stray cats after which we would help find them forever homes. I am sure that I am able to provide the same amount of love and care for any other pet as I do for my own. My comprehension of the needs of pets, especially those of dogs and cats is outstanding – from feeding them food with the right nutrients to walking them, I know it all. Moreover, I possess knowledge of how to take care of old pets and pets that are sick, therefore, would be able to effectively manage their appointments with the vet and administer their medication. And to make you feel more at ease, there are 15 vets within a 1 mile radius of my house, meaning, that in case of a medical emergency, you have the guarantee that your pet will be able to get to a vet within minutes. My most common pet services include: feeding, supplying treats, stimulating pets through mental games and physical activity, and providing grooming services, such as brushing and bathing (we have a pet spa in our building so if you would like your sweetie to come home smelling like a sweetie, check out my rates for grooming. And, then, of course, we can throw in a pajama party stay over too. If you have a pet that you consider to be super special and cool (that's all pets to me), I will be able to tailor to your specific needs. If said pet likes to do more adventurous walkies and is more energetic, I will find a way to make it more fun... perhaps a trail walk instead of the normal street walk then.
