I've been an animal lover my entire life. If you ask any of my close family members or friends, they'll tell you the same thing. I grew up with a wonderful family dog, a dachshund named Buster, in my youth and we used to walk, play and explore to our heart's content! He taught me how precious and amazing the love of a dog can be. Last year, I started house-sitting and caring for my neighbor's elderly whippet/lab mix while she worked long hours. Since they lived next door, I checked in on her frequently, feed her and took her on daily walks. She loved to sunbathe with our dog Betty and she LOVED belly rubs. And, frankly, we loved her. So much. I helped care for her until her unfortunate passing several months ago. My neighbor was so grateful for my help but, truthfully, it was my pleasure. Elderly dogs have a special spot in my heart. I've volunteered at several animal shelters throughout the years and found it to be incredibly rewarding work. I've also had the pleasure of sitting my friends' pets during vacations and I love being the one they feel they can turn to when their critters need looking after. Last year, my husband and I decided to expand our family. We adopted an older beagle named Betty and I can't begin to tell you how much she's enriched our lives! We love our old girl a lot. As a matter of fact, my husband will normally join me on walks and checks when he can! He's a animal lover, too. :) I have a lot of love and attention to give and time to do it. I'd be happy to share that with your canine loved ones as well. I can't wait to meet you and your puppy pals! EDIT: I will now be offering drop-in services for cats and other pets as well! Cats, fish, hedgehogs, reptiles, pet rocks, you name it. I have experience with caring for all of the aforementioned animals! Going out of town for the day or weekend and want someone to check in on your pet pal while you're gone? I can do that! The only pets I can't care for are the following: venomous snakes or constrictors, primates, wolves or wolf hybrids, non-domesticated cats, alligators, horses or other livestock, or any animal with a history of attacks on pets or people.
